βBut what deeply troubles me now is that for all the steps we've taken toward integration, I've come to believe that we are integrating into a burning house."Β
Dr. King said this famous quote on March 27th, 1968, mere days before his murder. But the context around the quote is interesting...
This is gonna make me take the x220 off the shelf. I held off for a long time before moving to a Framework. It's nice, but it does not "spark joy" in the same way, as they say.
An exhibit displaying a large pixelated photograph of a scientific kitchen, and 1936 photo of women preparing lunches at a large
Boston In 1894, Boston students became some of the first in the country to be fed in school. This was the work of the New England Kitchen: a laboratory open to the public. Started in 1890, the Kitchen used and promoted the latest technology and scientific knowledge of nutrition in preparing lunches and takeout dinners for immigrant workers. The Boston public school system hired the Kitchen, with its centralized space for food preparation, to make lunches for several poor schools. Within a year, the Kitchen was serving 5,000 students each day. In 1907, the Women's Educational and Industrial Union took over the work of serving lunch for 15 schools, offering meals such as black bean soup, creamed celery and toast, and lettuce sandwiches to Boston's learners.
I need to learn more about the New England Kitchen!
If the developers are to be believed that this community benefit agreement was their final offer, I am curious what the "No" voters would have liked to see happen next. I haven't been able to see where the city had the leverage, and the benefits agreement is honestly better than I expected it to be.
A pie chart shows the results of an opinion poll question. The question: "Do you agree with the Lancaster City Council's 6-1 vote to approve the community benefits agreement with the owners of two proposed data centers?" The results: 10.0% Yes 40.0% No 50.0% Not sure
It looks like you inspired a few to vote!

I would think that limited options for audio and communication would be a feature, not a limitation, to many who like this post.
Well, in this case people who know what theyβre doing with computers were able to identify a bad fake made by others who knew less about what they were doing. No one has seen anything other than the single circulated screenshot. Donβt take the bait.
I had used one in a darkroom photography class, but not until right now did I learn the word for it.
regarding the DHS account. post has reply with proof of fake.

before unaware viewers get too excited, the building in the background is the Land Title Building. USPS location is on the first floor corner facing the camera.

this is very cool: Kodak quietly relisted Kodak Gold and Ultramax on its website and confirmed to me it is selling the films directly to photography stores again. this is a big deal because for the last decade, Kodak has not controlled distribution of its own film

Please don't show up to vote tomorrow, Pennsylvanians. Tuesday is the day.
The need for food is especially dire, as Pennsylvaniaβs Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program benefits are expected to run dry this Saturday. As of September, 55,000 people in Lancaster County, or about 1 in 10 residents, were enrolled in the SNAP program.
If Dems win the Supreme Court races in Pennsylvania in 9 days, itβs extremely likely the GOP canβt get a majority on that court until 2029.
The GOP really wants to have this majority during the 2028 presidential race.
Canβt put the stakes any more clearly than that. boltsmag.org/pennsylvania...

Saw parks in both Philly and NYC this summer with sections blocked off. Both cases it was some string and an informational sign about giving the grass a break. This doesnβt feel like that.
Would love to know the reason so I can be educated in my grumblings and rants about them when I walk by.
