My day's had all three of these, so a win for me.
This site needs a break. Post 3 good things, none of which are the cessation of a negative.
1. Winter sunshine
2. Ice cream
3. A cat on your lap
Those are gooooood.
42 people. millions of trans people are being tortured by their governments because of 42 people.
I should hope so! π
This one made me laugh.
Right. The framework in which cancelling any grant that mentions women, LGBTQ, POC, etc. by default operates is one which assumes the only valid perspective is the white, male, straight one.
Yeah, the hardest thing is finding places where you can get equivalent products that don't also suck. I don't shop at Walmart, and use Amazon only as a last resort.
Ooh, this was fun. The only ones I wasn't sure about I got wrong, so it wasn't dumb luck.

I just want to say, my mom is a boomer (barely). She gets her news from the local broadcast channels and Facebook. Definitely not "terminally online." The first thing she asked me this morning is if I'd seen the pictures of Rubio's shoes. π€‘
So many parents try to be controlling and project themselves onto their children when there's so much joy and freedom instead in helping your child to live in all the possibilities.
The name change was particularly hard and felt personal, even though it wasn't. But that's not for them to know. I'm happy to let them explore their identity at school and with their friends because it's literally what *all* teens do. For some reason we, as a society, are just weird about gender.
("Going through this" sounds dour, so I'm adding more context.) We are 100% supportive, and our teen knew this before they came out to us. But still, it *is* hard to accept that your teen is an entirely autonomous individual, a whole, real person.
100% agree, because we're going through this right now.
I could give you a specific name, but she's a good friend and I don't want to doxx myself. π But the firm itself is very good.
Inhabit. Any of the agents are good.
I love how it now apparently takes 2-3 weeks for the USPS to carry a letter from NC to KY. I could physically walk it there quicker.
Like, whyyyyyy? π«
Daylight saving time: everything's the same, just an hour earlier.
My body: best I can do is stay up until 3am and sleep until 1:30pm.
Not like the platform was ever perfect anyway.
Listen, I'm an elder millennial. Digital migration is in my DNA. I've seen bulletin boards, Yahoo! chat rooms, ICQ, Fark, Digg and Google Reader all die. I've traveled from reddit to Twitter to Bluesky. If I have to pick up again and move, I'll move.
Please, PLEASE. I'll take anywhere in the EU.
Then I stayed up until 2am sewing. Just a bundle of good decisions today.
Me: I shouldn't be sewing, I should be making dinner.
Me: Well are you going to make dinner then?
Me: No, I think I'll just sit here and doom scroll for 45 minutes.
A brown and black tabby with a white nose and green eyes looks over her shoulder at the camera. She is wondering why mom is taking her picture instead of petting her
Everything sucks. Have a cat pic.
I wonβt be satisfied until a Tom Holland challenges TimothΓ©e Chamalet to a dance off and ballets him into the Shadow Realm.
Not me setting up a motherfucking system of equations to figure out how much ruffled trim I can get out of this leftover fabric.
My 15yo's phone gets non-stop spam calls and texts. Several an hour. They don't even know their phone number, so it's not like they got themselves on a list.
