Spent the afternoon finally configuring our own LLM on our server. Main goals have been to create one that is not chatty & just spits out research (cross-border ACL is my area so i can check it, and it's a good strawberry test.)

I don't think many people have really grappled with this. The book I started writing as a love letter to the internet, became its Eulogy. One day I might be able to finish/publish it.
I know there are people who think that by controlling it themselves that they can somehow "own" Twitter. But you can't own. You can't recreate it. And if you think you can, you simply don't understand it.
Twitter was an organic, co-designed happy accident that was right place, right time.
It makes me sad that my reaction is one of hope that it's gone for good, rather than I hope it comes back.
What a depressing turn of events for such a brilliant product. Twitter is a concept as much as it is a product. You can't own it, as much as you try... and I doubt it can ever be recreated.
