A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Fumbled Drug Deal
That's a lot of unusual things happening in an unsettling way.

Please...my breakfast bar. It's very sick.
Happy birthday to Betty Boo. Here's a reminder of the time she rapped with Public Enemy in the McDonalds at Shepherd's Bush back in 1987 (look out for the unimpressed manager!)

There can be only⦠two?!
Iβve written a new official book on Highlander for the 40th anniversary - plenty I couldnβt get for the first book inc new interviews, unseen photos, deleted scene coverageβ¦ even lifelong fans havenβt heard a lot of this.
Published by Titan Books on 1st September!

The world is in a perilous state. But there's a new issue of Viz on sale today, and while that may not particularly alleviate geopolitical tensions, at least it probably won't make them very much worse
The vocal keeps throwing me. Sounds a bit like Sting doing a Neil Finn impression.
Yeah, did a quick Wiki dive and it seems they were huge in the US while being completely ignored in their native England. I expected the reason they were on the list might have something to do with that track featuring on a game or TV show, but I didn't find anything to back that supposition up.
Just listened to The Outfield for the first time and I think that 13 year old me would've probably loved that song if he'd actually heard it.

In the early hours of 2nd March 1986, Channel 4 showed UAP's gorgeous, expressionistic animated version of Poe's THE TELL-TALE HEART (1953), narrated by James Mason, to conclude its 'Monster Horror' season of classic fright films. It was love at first sight.
Cover of Get Ahead of Being Dead, Your Handy Planner for the End of Life by Evie King. Red flowers surround the text, living at the top, wilting in the middle, dying at the bottom. Quote from Richard Herring at top. Don't buy this book if you're already dead, it's too late.

Iwao Takamoto was one of the Disney greats. Films like Sleeping Beauty owe a lot to his meticulous lines.
The studio was a kind of home for him -- it was a big change. Just before, he'd been in the camps. We explore the story:

The Monster from the Id is still one of the coolest things I ever saw as a kid. Weird shape, exponential lethality and completely invisible until you blast it with everything you've got.
And it's still not enough.
70 years of Forbidden Planet!
The soundtrack by Louis and Bebe Barron is amazing - the first time that electronic music was used in a mainstream Hollywood film, and it still sounds totally out thereβ¦

This time, I read my calendar carefully: Forbidden Planet premiered 70 years ago today! π
Getting pissed thanks to eating the rich sounds like a definite diary date.
Please excuse the use of a 'k' in sceptical.
In the absence of a second series, I would have loved a Christmas Special.

For me, those innocent, heady days of seeing a video online and just accepting it for what it was ended last year. I now view every possible wonder I'm presented with as suspicious, and it sucks.
