The second time I went airborne I didn't go high enough and got pulled back onto Timber Hearth damaging my ship. I landed and the ship seemed stable, but had not disengaged the auto pilot, so the rockets were still firing. I got out of the ship to repair it only to watch it rocket away out of sight.

It's so darn good. And also sometimes hilarious.
First time I went an airborne I was hovering above Timber Hearth deciding where to go, not realizing the solar system is comically small. I had drifted into Giant's Deep's orbit and it slammed right into me sending me to the bottom of tis ocean.

I spent so much of 2000 listening to this that I had to go check the release date: October 26, 1999 .. just squeaked in under the wire!

LOL brilliant. The code is a bit janky because I am Not Very Good at programming but it gets the job done.

sparkellate/sparkellate.ino at main Β· tdotfish/sparkellate Two-mode code for Hackerbox 0059 "Tessellation". Contribute to tdotfish/sparkellate development by creating an account on GitHub.

PS I made a modified program for it that displays a sparkly pattern when it's stationary and then switches to the accelerometer-based color changing when you move it around, that way it's not just one boring color when it's sitting on the table.

Oh man. When I assembled this thing, I lightly sanded the magnet wire. Figured if I didn't get enough enamel off, the solder would not join the wire to the holes. WRONG! Redid every joint on every edge after re-sanding all of the wire 🀣

Congrats on assembling it successfully!

For me I'm looking for cool visuals and interesting functionality or puzzles. The @aerospacevillage.bsky.social DC29 badge is one of my favorites and a perfect example. The artwork is gorgeous. It doesn't do anything CRAZY but it also had some fun functionality/easter eggs to pick apart.

It's pretty interesting how music changed as it was freed from the limits of media over time. When he started, Mike Oldfield had to limit tracks to ~25 minutes to fit them (barely) on a 12" LP record. When CDs came along he started laying down tracks upwards of 30 min (or 60 min for Amarok!)

I did enjoy that one. The hardest part for me was figuring out a way to get the audio from the eChallengeCoin into the computer. I had to use an external USB audio device but I tried 3-4 other ways first without success

Cool stickers from @wbm312.bsky.social, jilles.com, rot13labs.com, altbier.us and others but mostly I want everyone to admire that pamtb.org parody Heinz label sticker which may well be the most Pennsylvania thing you will see in your feed today.
