Crude oil prices, showing a very sharp increase in the last day, from around 65 to 101 dollars per barrel..
Oil prices wouldn't be all over the news today if more of our economy was powered by local, secure renewable energy.
This isn't an "energy crisis". It's a fossil fuel crisis.
44% of UK electricity came from renewables in 2025. More of that plus an electrified economy => no more oil shocks.

It really is something to see politicians, commentators and media outlets whose whole identity is based on being so-called ‘patriots’ frothing with excitement as they line up to back a deranged megalomaniac who consistently attempts to belittle and bully the country they claim to love

When Brexit was slammed for being an act of pure prejudice, all the Brexiters howled about ‘sovereignty’ and ‘taking back control’.
Now, the very same people howl that we should just obey Trump and put our country in the firing line.
They lied about everything. All of it. Every single part.

Only discovered ballet a couple of years ago and I love it now. Gone the Matthew Bourne route (modernised versions) but absolutely adore it. I’m sure Opera is not far away in catching my eye, or ear I should say. 😄

I think you’ll find that people who have traditionally voted Labour will be voting for PC and Greens because they don’t want Reform in the Senedd. Labour’s current polling is dire and this kind of messaging to all progressive voters is not helpful.

I've never observed a wider gap between self-confidence and lack of any actual understanding than in Badenoch. On other topics it can be comical, but when it extends to undermining gov't on matters of national security, in breach of established conventions, it is profoundly dangerous. #PMQs

How Westminster Works …and Why It Doesn’t. Book by Ian Dunt. Taken out of the House of Commons Library by Hannah Spencer. Screenshot of the book taken from her Instagram reel on the day she was sworn in as an MP for Gorton and Denton.
Lovely to see Hannah Spencer documenting her day being sworn in as an MP at Gorton and Denton on Instagram. Love how this is the first book she’s taken out at the House of Commons Library! And she took her 4 greyhounds with her too. 😍 What a star!

Polling holds too much sway over our democracy and governance. But the G&D by-election does show that Reform’s dominance is inflated by foreign/rightwing interests, irresponsible media support and Farage’s ego.
If progressives can win despite all that, then hatred really is overpriced. Hope can win.

Reform are in denial about why they lost by 12% in Gorton & Denton (60% white, 80% UK-born) after losing by 11% in Caerphilly (98% white, 98% UK-born) to Plaid Cyrmu
Both seats unusual in seeing more people vote than at last Welsh Senedd/last GE: more voters turned out to stop Reform than supoort

My OH works in TV / film production and we often watch YouTube videos on how films were made and their legacy. It just suddenly occurred to me that the next phase of film making with AI could be user generated. We’ll be prompting what we watch. Genre, actors, plot, time. What a depressing thought. 😕
