We’ve tried it before, so I assume it’s a matter of scale. We need to kill enough people that this God we haven’t had any evidence of in 2000 years would wake up and make us fly — presumably forgiving us for killing that many people.

I guess if you wait a couple thousand years for something your prophetic book said would happen within the lifetime of the people who wrote it, you might think, “God must be waiting for me to kill people.”
