The National Weather Service has designated the upcoming storm as a high risk event. Up to 4 - 8 inches of rain is anticipated in the coasts and valleys, with a Flood Watch in effect from today, Tuesday at 4 p.m. through Thursday at 10 p.m.

New Parking Rates are coming to Santa Monica
The city of Santa Monica is implementing new public parking rates effective Jan. 12, 2026, designed to make pricing easier to understand and encourage Downtown visitors to stay longer and pay less.

🚦 Streetlight and signal upgrades completed at Broadway and 5th
We continue to make progress on the Realignment Plan! The city of Santa Monica recently completed signal improvements at Broadway and 5th Street.
On Dec. 9, Caroline Torosis will be sworn in as the next mayor of Santa Monica and Jesse Zwick will take the position of mayor pro tem.
Torosis will take the helm from outgoing Mayor Lana Negrete, who has served in the post since 2024.
It's been a rainy night and morning, and Santa Monica Public Works crews are responding to flooding in Lot 1N, the beach bike path and near the Pier. Lot 1N remains open with parking and pier access.
Please use caution and stay out of standing water and away from beach storm drains.
Each year on Nov. 20, we honor the memory of transgender people whose lives were lost in acts of anti-transgender violence.
Santa Monica stands with its transgender and gender-nonconforming community and is committed to being and growing into a safer and more inclusive city.
