It’s been a roller coaster. We have had rain since Thursday. Spent all Friday worrying about friends in the Texas Hill Country. Everyone we know is fine, but the devastation has been hard to put into perspective.

I cannot imagine seeing the skulls of my beloved pets on my former doorstep. Two weeks ago, I saw a woman bring her deceased pet into an emergency vet. She could not speak from the pain. Having to see that again must have wounded him deeply. I would be distraught as he was.
It is worse living here. So many rumors going around. There is far too much to unpack here, and absolutely no coverage has even half of the info. The police chief even admitted they jumped the gun on the no hate crime. This is not an easy case. This is likely a hate crime and a whole lot more.

My congressman—Joaquin Castro—is keeping up with his constituents. He has been regularly posting on social media and doing virtual town halls. I sent an online message and even got a response.

I feel this. I am always left out. The only con that has truly recognized me as a creator was Chupa. People always defer to Sean and often forget my part. This is one of the reasons I stepped back and focused on my other writing gig and my full time job. I get lots of credit for both.

It is cold today. We will get rain, but it will be a few degrees to warm for snow. It will be dreary and depressing. Luckily, my cats think it is the perfect time for cuddles.

Spent the day wine tasting with wonderful friends in Mason, TX —best known for Old Yeller. Went to a memorial for a friend and there were rainbows in the trails left by jets. A herd of deer ran by just before we left. It was about as beautiful as it gets.
Today is a wine day. We buy local. Started at a group gathering where the Montepulciano and Tannat blend was amazing. Headed down the road to try their carbonic Beaujolais Nuoveau style Temp. Super lovely.
