Make it stick.
Screenshot of an X post by Senator Tom Cotton saying Iran has been an imminent threat to the United States for 47 years and that the president was right to act. Below is a Fox News segment with Cotton speaking while footage labeled βU.S. Central Command β Unclassifiedβ shows a strike.
βImminent.β You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.
Oh dear. Sorry to hear that. Borked is a splendid word. As your other correspondent said, I think Brother is probably the best bet
At the risk of mansplaining, have you updated the firmware lately? If thatβs the issue you might knock another year or so out of it
Mark E. Smith, singer, lyricist and only constant member of post-punk group the Fall, was born in Broughton, Salford, on this day 1957. Smith formed the band after attending a 1976 Sex Pistols gig at Lesser Free Trade Hall, Manchester, and was its leader until he died in 2018.

Since 2 March 2025, UNRWAβs aid supplies for #Gaza have been blocked by the Israeli authorities.
Food, medicines & other essentials for hundreds of thousands of people remain in UNRWA warehouses, ready to enter β while access stays severely restricted.
#UNRWAworks β we must be allowed to scale up.
it's sad the the 'before' picture is so commonplace (and so accepted as normal) in ireland
if they were displayed the other way around, you would think something cataclysmic had happened
Fair play to Spain for demonstrating more bottle than any Irish Govt ever did!
βThere is a deal with the US, but our understanding of the deal is that operations have to comply with international legal frameworks & there has to be international support for them,β

Infographic from NTA report.
The latest NTA report for the Cork Metropolitan Area shows 83% support reducing speed limits to 30km/h in built-up areas.
I put forward a motion in January calling for the most ambitious possible 30km/h speed zones across Cork City.
Safer streets. Safer children. Strong public backing.
One of my favourite sides of politics/media.
As the petrostates wage wars that send oil & gas prices spiralling, what a great incentive to go all-in on renewables & stop funding terrorist states and their endless wars into the bargain.
I wonder if an economist /analyst would be interested in calculating how much cars cost us.
The import.
The fuel.
The tax.
The time in congestion.
The deaths.
The injuries.
Sedentary weight gain.
The stress.
The emissions.
The lessons.
The insurance.
The delayed services by dispersed settlement
there really is something immensely clarifying about realizing that "death cult" is not an ironic or jokey term
Reacting to Labour's devastating loss to the Green Party in Gorton and Denton, Keir Starmer claims that only Labour can unite communities. I agree. He convinced Muslims to vote for a white working class woman representing a party led by a gay Jewish man.

It's not a ceasefire if one side keeps firing:
Where the law is subject to some other authority and has none of its own, the collapse of the state is not far off; but if law is the master of the government and the government is its slave, the situation is full of promise and men enjoy all the blessings that the gods shower on a state.

I remember seeing Zelensky on TV at the start of the war and thinking "A week from now that guy's going to be either dead or reciting a scripted surrender in a Moscow prison." By inflicting such terrible, pointless suffering on two countries, Putin has exposed his own weakness and Ukraine's strength
Alarming isn't it. It isn't demand for timber causing Amazon deforestation though it's land grabs for cattle ranching due to demand for cheap meat. It's time we all realised that it comes at a huge environmental cost.
Several European countries are considering social media bans for children. We must regulate platforms, not children.
I urge caution:

Focus on "safety by design"
β
Demand algorithmic transparency
β
Enforce the #DSA & #HumanRights standards
