I didn’t post any art today but I DID sketch a thing

Trying to decide on a hotel for Chicago. General rule: I prefer a full-sized fridge for my insulin, which limits me to suites or Extended Stays, and for some reason a decent amount of the suite hotels do not have king-sized beds???

They GREATLY OVERESTIMATED the amount of tile we'd need, and now I have to pray these boxes haven't been opened so I can get a full refund when I return them

Tiling is almost complete! Only thing left is paint

Baseboards AND tile are going in. We haven't had baseboards in half of our kitchen in quite some time, and have frankly gotten used to it, so this will be weird.

My mission today is basically, stay out of the contractors' way WHILE STILL BEING AROUND to answer questions, which is...certainly different than my normal days.

It's been like six years but I will hopefully, finally, have pegboard on the kitchen walls for organizing pots & pans once they finish painting in there. I used to have that in my old apartment (15 years ago!!!) and it was bright yellow and awesome.

(It will not be bright yellow this time.)

I had to check on something in the garage (we threw out most of the old baseboards because they were old 'n busted) and man it's gorgeous outside. I feel like I should go outside (but I can't because I have to be around to answer questions like "Should we replace the baseboards")

Tile guys have left the kitchen door open all day (because they keep going in and out, it makes sense) and now I am wearing ALL THE SWEATERS

There's an entire ROOM devoted to him at the Philadelphia Museum of Art. Or there used to be, anyway.

Anyway it's really cool to see your favorite painting in person.

Marcel Duchamp, one of the literal creators of dada as an art form, is one of my favorite artists, if not my absolute favorite. Outside of fucking with art and the perception of art, he fucked with gender as well: his alter ego was Rrose Sélavy (a play on "Eros [love/lust/sex], c'est la vie")

I've already seen my favorite piece of art ever, Marcel Duchamp's "Nude Descending a Staircase #2," at the Philadelphia Museum of Art, though I wouldn't mind seeing it again...that's a good museum, and it's been YEARS since I've been.

I hope it's out! Apparently it is currently off-view!

The main goal of the Chicago trip, outside of Pokemon at the Field Museum (already bought tickets) is the Art Institute. I'd like to see "American Gothic" in person, but I will say a big draw is that it -- and the city of Chicago itself -- plays a role in my favorite book, The Time-Traveler's Wife.

We liked Osaka more as well! Especially DenDen Town and the little curvy streets...

Actually I'll probably work on an idea @nitrofox.bsky.social had for a comic page, because I feel strange drawing blatant pornography with random people in the house
