oh thank you π₯Ί
me too tbh π

blurb for The Lord of the Wood from Mia Tsai, author of The Memory Hunters: βAnderson imbues the novel with . . . grace to discover who you are, and . . . to arrive when you're ready. A necessary read for many, especially for those of us who need a respite before getting back to our feet.β Blurb is in a textbox against a five-photo collage featuring images of a snowy forest, a lone oak silhouetted against a sunset, a misty forest, an acorn, and a stag striding across a meadow.
The covers of The Memory Hunters by Mia Tsai and The Lord of the Wood by E.M. Anderson in a translucent yellow box against the backdrop of white flowers blooming on a tree against a blue sky. The Memory Hunter's cover is dark red, with a central image of bright red cup fungi blooming on a rotting branch, with faint outlines of mushrooms, branches, and flowers that used to be there. The Lord of the Wood's cover is blue, with a central image of a stag of foliage and flowers growing from a tree whose upper branches drip black ooze and the tagline "even a beastly woodland protector needs saving..."

if you like the looks of THE MEMORY HUNTERS (which I know you do, bc that cover is amazing), you can check it out here: bookshop.org/p/books/the-...
and it's coming out in paperback SOON, be still my heart!!
ooh, intriguing π
that's on you, I tell everyone not to squint π
admittedly some readers reach instead of squinting and are like "it's happy bc I have decided a thing for which there is no evidence in the story has happened" so they get the happiest ending of all lmao
only if you squint at WHICH I EXPLICITLY TELL EVERYONE NOT TO DO so as long as you don't squint it's fine and it's all perfectly happy π
I usually go in-person and do physical ARCs, but since I do generally bring an ARC I think that's a digital one is a good offer for email if you can swing it!
Nothing new, but feel free to check out my free stories (plus a queer sci-fi novella) on offer at ko-fi. #WeeknightWriters
but if I weren't overwhelmed by anxiety every single time I'd use something more like the general email template I just shared π
I say this like I actually say all that in-person when in-person I'm normally like *sweating profusely* hi I'm a HarperCollins author and I um *sweating some more* I have a book coming out and um *oh god so much sweating* I brought you an ARC if you'd like to take a look um *throws ARC and leaves*
--to be there specifically]. [more information about the book, like a back of book blurb if sufficient but if you've got any particularly great blurbs or anything else impressive you can mention that too]. please let me know if you have any questions! thank you,"
--while I mostly have done it in-person (which never gets less scary alas), I'd probably use the same basic script for emails, like
"I am an author with [Publisher] and I have a [genre] book coming out on [date]. [ideally something nice you can say about the bookstore and why you'd like your book--
okay I just wasn't sure what you were looking for since you were like "how do I" but then you said "it would be email" and I was like well isn't that the answer right there??? so I thought you must be asking something else actually π
anyway--
are you looking for like a basic email template or?
I like to write bittersweet endings disguised as happy endings lmao
it's fun to see which readers of THE KEEPER OF LONELY SPIRITS in particular squint at the ending and which cheerily go on without squinting lololol

for us it's always construction until it's winter (and then it's still construction, which annoys me since where I'm from originally you at least got time off from the construction in winter) π

omg
yes but I still can't figure out what that means for the light even though that should tell me π you'd think after 35 years of doing this twice a year I'd know by now, but nope
ooh, swordplay would be so cool!
I *think* we're done with that although you never can tell here π like it got up to 50 the day before my birthday, then ON my birthday bam it's winter again lmao
I live in a city, but it's extremely parks and arts focused, which is great!
