Got so little sleep as I was worried about Luna's first night home after surgery. I slept next to her pen in a sleeping bag lmao
She finally peed this morning and absolutely wolfed down her breakfast and I cannot describe the sheer relief I feel omfg
Surgeon just called and said the surgery went perfectly and she is now in recovery 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

Saying goodbye to her was literally the hardest thing I've ever had to do. I know she will be fine but god. It is so hard to stay rational. She is my world.

They aren't sure whether they'll need to do bilateral surgery, either. So she might be having it done on both her hind legs. The recovery will be absolutely brutal for her. I want to throw up. My poor baby 😭😭😭

It's without, sadly! Because we visited the vet about her leg a few months ago before we got insurance (even though there was no diagnosis then), it is still considered a pre-existing condition so her insurance won't cover it 😭

Luna 100% needs surgery, she has a torn CCL (dog equivalent of her ACL)
Vet says her other one is showing signs of weakness so is recommending a bilateral knee surgery as it will blow out eventually anyway
We don't have a quote from the surgeon just yet but she thinks it will be $8k+ 🫠
