Im so glad the Getty Museums survived last years fires 💜. They are a gift to CA & the world. Seeing this post reminded me of a documentary of his work that was haunting & meditative.

I'm a fan of English painter #JohnWilliamWaterhouse (1849-1917) because his work is realistic but not hyperreal. He was an Academic painter that became part of the PreRaphaelite Brotherhood for their subject matter of strong women with mythological origins. This oil is called Boreas.

I never tire of this painting. I think i's part of Yales permanent British Art Collection in Connecticut.
