Concur. Generally speaking, I am a huge fan of the way blocking works on bsky, and the blocklist functionality especially. I think it's one of the best things about this site.
BUT.. the fact that there isn't a way to say "don't block someone I'm already following, even if on a list" is very bad.
A mutual just reached out to ask why I'd blocked him. Turns out, he was added to one of the blocklists I subscribed to. Since there's no way to override blocklists, I had to unsubscribe from the entire list.
People should ABSOLUTELY reach out to me w/ questions if there's an unexplained block.
