i remembered the way the tram assembles itself at the ending of black mesa and decided to do a similar type of effect in godot but driven by the player being near the mesh. The mesh is just a simple hallway exploded in Blender.
im still shit at gdscript but this is the coolest thing ive made so far

Are there any good Discords to join if I'm looking to improve in my GDScript abilities in Godot? I'm an artist, but trying to expand into programming, mainly in Godot, and sometimes I'm a bit lost and would love to have people to talk to about GDScript and get help if needed.
Any suggestions?

I mean even as a concept it's just interesting. With my previous post it would be cooler if I could define start and end points on a physical dimension within the engine. Assumingly it would be like having an just a regular axis stored in a separate scene or something. I have no idea.

I need to find a way to implement a fourth dimension into a game engine so I can create a usable pipeline... for fun I think.

I'm no shader expert so theres definetly a better way to do this, but I had fun doing this regardless!

(2/2) With one channel controlling the 'time', and another controlling the smooth step for each area used in the blend, so you can have a sharp blend or a soft one. The meshes (only the bench here) can be deformed using a blend shape, or it could be scrubbing through an animation (which I didn't do)

(1/2) A fun experiment I've been working on for a bit, I had this fun concept of making assets that have a 'Time' slider on them. So there are two assets here that have a global slider controlling both of them, changing their material that's driven by a custom mask-

An unintended successful investment but at the cost of everything ever :( I'm lucky I bought RAM and a GPU a few months before all this

First few days moving from Unity to @godotengine.org for my new project. I've never done any sort of programming before but GDScript has been quite easy to get a grasp on so far, and the engine is very satisfying to use! I've yet to look properly into the art pipeline, but lighting has been fun :D
