My grandma is still complaining that they built so many apartment complexes in place of the forest that used to be there (Irpin, small town near Kyiv in Ukraine).

And sure, I liked the forest too, but I'd rather have all the displaced people who lost literally everything due to war have a home 💔

yep, I see it (moved to US a year ago).

I grew up as a preservation activist since we were fighting for every rare tree in our stone jungle.

But here I'm looking at these million 😳 dollar houses and I'm like hey, you could house hundreds of families on the same land.

We have another problem though: concrete jungle with lack of fresh air, no parking and barely any green parks keep invading botanic gardens, school playgrounds and historically significant places of 1500+ y.o. city.

I told an American friend once that my city was a jungle of concrete 13+ storey condo hives, where millions of people would live.

He made a disapproving face. And I get it, most of us were complaining about lack of parks, infrastructure etc. as well.

We were not homeless though 🤷‍♀️

If your HOA doesn't allow for your house to look like this: with a bountiful backyard of home-grown produce and a cherry tree garden - it doesn't deserve to exist.

Hahaha, I just realized - I often complain supermarket produce is tasteless and bland. People probably think I'm a spoiled kid.

Thing is when I was a kid, we grew our own food and caught fish to survive 🤷‍♀️

And nothing ever tasted better than fresh tomato from the garden 🤤

You know how this type of glass is called? Cat glass.

Why? Because it's perfect for serving cat soup to your cats.
