Teaching myself it's okay to take time for yourself. Have an at-home spa night. Do something that brings you joy. Watch something that doesn't require too much thinking. Play a video game. Whatever works for you to relax is important big or small.
Reason for the post:
I spent the past few days helping my mom move. It was very labor-intensive. I fell yesterday and sprained my knee.
I know my first video was on burnout and today I followed my own advice: had an at-home spa day, played video games, and rested.

Too many to choose from, but I narrowed it down to two. The first one is from Chapter 1 Page 4 of The Sorcerer of Awakening with the mismatched chairs.
The second is a WIP for the first page of Chapter 4!
The two panels were drawn almost three years apart from each other.
Of the two main characters introduced so far, Julian is 5'8" and Ginn is 6'2"

It's definitely an artist struggle. When reviewing the page before updating the website, I noticed "Oh, the ear is too close to the rest of the face. The eyes look too big and what emotion is he supposed to be showing?" I felt if I'm having these issues and confusion then my readers will, too.
In this episode of "My Older Art Needs Help," these panels are almost two years apart. Fixing the face and anatomy helped the overall emotional effect of the page.

I agree. The fundamentals are important when making art. It teaches you how and why something is rendered or shaped a certain way. Shortcuts and streamlining processes can be useful when making lots of art, but using shortcuts without understanding the fundamentals first will hurt you down the road.
