Photo of a pale book with the title the agile comms handbook. How to clearly, creatively work in the open By Giles Turnbull
This book is excellent
So clear and relevant. Easy to read (which is a big compliment as a dyslexic person).
Bonus is it's in a font size which doesn't make me feel I need to squint or hold the page next to my face
Well⦠the house has electricity today⦠so progress!
In todayβs episode of #FixTheForms, a terrific blog post from Tracey Wilson on identifying ownership of content.
Absolutely all of this applies even more to forms, although in my experience identifying the ownership of forms is even harder.

This is my shocked face: π
Look, I love science fiction & desperately want many of its concepts & ideas to be real (but, y'know, w/ the sociotechnical concerns attended to because I Actually love sci-fi). But some people want sci-fi to be real so bad that they ignore obviously over-hyped bullshit
A great horned owl in a nest in a eucalyptus tree
Went to check out the owl nest that is less than a block from my house. Omg, there WAS an owl in it! π

A Long-tailed Tit dangles awkwardly from one foot on a thin branch, its tiny body swinging below, clinging on for dear life, just like the rest of us on a Monday.
Still clinging to the weekend. No current plans to let go.

I prefer to save talking till I know what Iβm talking about.
Once more begging folk looking at a 9% drop in <whatever> in February compared to January β please remember how many days there are in the month.
(amazing how many times this comes up when folk hand roll their dashboards & analytics :-)

You may find @cstross.bsky.social's "Accelerando" a fun fiction read around this topic if you've not come across it before.
(and not to get all "death of the author" about it β I do find the number of folk who seem to read the book as an optimistic vision of the future _wildly_ amusing :)
So the Telegraph is taking this well
