And I can’t type today. Meant to say it’ll cost them steady business and make it difficult to sustain a business that already has narrow margins.

Unless that flipping got them the payday of a lifetime, it’s a short term gain that’ll for them steady business and sustain a business that already has narrow margins.

A good system and it’s run like a business and also not feeding the speculation bubble.

Four ducks standing and quacking at each other. One of the ducks (at the end, on the right) yells β€œChicken!”. All the ducks lower their heads as a chicken is tossed over them. The ducks then resume quacking at each other after the chicken is done.

The text underneath reads β€œβ€˜And so,’ the interviewer asked, β€˜Do you ever have trouble coming up with ideas?’ β€˜Well, sometimes,’ the cartoonist replied.”

A funny β€œThe Far Side” for this Friday.

It was a smooth transaction in buying my copy of that famous β€œBetty and Me” innuendo cover from you.

Given that Watterson was working during the height of the grim&gritty era, I can understand the disdain he had for comics being made during that time. That and the focus on commerce over art (which he had his own battles with).

LOOK HOBBES, THIS IS MY RETIREMENT FUND.
A COMIC BOOK?
THIS IS THE ISSUE WHERE THEY INTRODUCE THE ARCH-VILLAIN "DEATHMEISTER" IN A FEW YEARS, A RARE MINT COPY OF THIS WILL BE WORTH MILLIONS OF DOLLARS:
N 3-1
NEEDLESS TO SAY, I BOUGHT FIVE COPIES, SEALED THEM IN AIRTIGHT PLASTIC BAGS, AND PUT THEM IN A BOX IN THE CLOSET, WHERE THE LIGHT AND HUMIDITY WONT AFFECT THEIR PRECIOUS PAGES!
HOW WILL THESE BE RARE AND VALUABLE IF EVERY
KID IN AMERICA
HAS FIVE COPIES?
WE'RE ALL COUNTING ON THE OTHER GUY'S MOM TO THROW THEM AWAY.

Sounds like a great meal. I made a honey and mustard glaze for some salmon and sprinkled some dill on it. Had some steamed broccoli as a side. Filling and tastes good.

Definitely. Those who still run stores like their personal clubhouse and make ComicBookGuy look good should not be in business.

When β€œIdentity Crisis” was coming out, the LCS I bought from kept shorting many subscribers on issues. They’d shrug & tell people to buy the marked up copies they had on display. I was able to get them elsewhere, but that soured a lot of people on the new owners who were driving it into the ground.

β€œCasablanca” is my favorite film, but I cringe when Ilsa refers to Sam as β€œboy” when asking Renault about the piano player. It’s of its time and still wrong. Favorite film but I can acknowledge it’s not flawless.
