in my personal site I’m using pico.css and it does a great job at keeping the HTML clean and readable

Turns out that HTML is better than markdown for writing web pages.

You don’t need MD to write posts on your personal blog.

I built my own (best and last) static site generator years ago.

- A single ~200 lines Python file
- 2 client-side deps: pico.css & highlight.js
- Pages written in HTML (not MD)
- Front matter uses TOML
- It has templates, includes, blog support
- Build and publish to Github pages on push

The new Macbook Neo looks great. If you need a keyboard and trackpad this better than any iPad + Keyboard combination. Also cheaper and with a real OS.

A desk workspace with a disassembled fan and its exposed circuit board being repaired. The PCB is held in a helping hands soldering station on a cutting mat, surrounded by soldering tools, pliers, wire cutters, solder, and steel wool.

When we're done building the AI agents that'll put us out of a job, I'll just pivot to fixing fans. Already got the skills.

Switched to VS Code for a week to kick off a TypeScript project and somehow still ended up back in WebStorm

Tactical tornado is the new default The more work we delegate to LLMs, the closer we are to becoming tactical tornadoes ourselves.

If you use the spell checker in your editor/ide it will catch bugs

Learning about type state, phantom, proof, session types in #Rust. You can make it so code literally won't compile unless certain operations happened in a specified order. No runtime checks, no assertions. The type system can catch that. I've wanted this in every language I've ever used.

Photo by Pierre Lavie. Yes this is me. And I threw my Leica. It landed on the bass plate with hardly a scratch. Another Photographer grabbed it along with my phone and I was able to track him later. I was held face down tear gas deployed right in front of me and pepper sprayed directly into the eye.
