We were able to bring home Callan from the NICU today. It’s officially our first night of watching sports as a family of 3. Main event is Carolina Hurricanes game. Which is fitting since my favorite photo from the hospital is with @thefreestmason.bsky.social wearing a Canes shirt. #RaiseUp

Maybe technology isn’t so bad when I’m able to watch a livestream of my son sleeping in the NICU while I’m also stuck in a hospital bed.
So far, he is doing extremely well. We are hoping he will continue on this path and be discharged in a couple of days.
We did end up having to go with a c-section. Unfortunately I had 2 different epidurals fail on me and was in extreme pain. No progression was made in labor during that time frame. I feel so much better today.
Callan was just a little bit sleepy on arrival so is spending some time in the NICU.

Callan York made his arrival on March 1, 2026.

Didn’t plan for today to be so eventful for the world. But heading in for Callan’s induction now. Elevated blood pressure is not good. But it does mean an early induction which is good for Oliver and his health.

We are having to make some difficult decisions about Oliver and his health soon. He has had medical episodes starting about 3 weeks ago and they have progressively been worsening since then. I am very selfishly wanting him to hold on until Callan’s birth since he has been my constant shadow
