If a kid comes to you saying “I did all the work because Student X wouldn’t do their part and it’s not fair” you can say “Did you follow the group contract plan about what to do if a group member doesn’t uphold their responsibilities?”
today’s teacher tip: have groups make group work contracts before embarking on a group project, it will solve (almost) all of your group work woes

Fair! As I said in my other reply, it just felt like something they should actually have addressed. But maybe it was in some version of an episode and they had to cut it, who knows!
I read that as her being frustrated than Santos would not explain the CT to her. And obviously that is not the ideal way to approach someone who communicates with ASL!! but it feels like there should have been a beat where she got to explain that she’d rather wait than use alternate communication.
At least they finally found a translator but man if I were that woman I would have demanded pen and paper very early on

I think the first few series are pretty good, if for no other reason than they really hook kids and get them reading!! My 8yo is on like book 19 or something crazy like that right now and I honestly haven’t read that far. But they love it.
