Happy Anniversary to Horizon Zero Dawn. An all time favorite game.
A game I wish I could erase from my memory just to experience again.
My favorite VP from HZD. Which one is yours?
My M1 Max Max Studio is almost 4 years old but still pretty much as fast as day one. No need to upgrade for some time either.

Une chouette initiative à suivre !
This is amazing.

No generative AI was used in creating The Mermaid Mask - this game is the result of nothing less than a small group of very talented artists working hard for a long time!
A shame it even has to be said, but it's important to restate our values when making games:
No GenAI. Ever.

"L'antifascisme est une opposition au fascisme.
L'opposition à l'antifascisme, c'est du fascisme."
SAM ALTMAN: "People talk about how much energy it takes to train an Al model ... But it also takes a lot of energy to train a human. It takes like 20 years of life and all of the food you eat during that time before you get smart."
“Evil starts when you treat other people as things. There are perhaps worse crimes, but they begin when you treat other people as things.” - Terry Pratchett

It lets me with only three choices: pay, handle Spotify manually, or stop providing links to the platform.
All cases result in a downgrade.
Your application will be blocked from the Web API at '2026-03-09' unless you have a Spotify Premium subscription. Upgrade to Spotify Premium to access the Web API and unlock additional features for your app.
TIL that Spotify changed how they handle apps in development mode for their WebAPI. VGTunes uses this API to search for albums and gather information about them.
To continue using it, I will have to pay for the service. This is their right, but VGTunes is a FOSS project with no regular funding.
RE Bluepoint:
Having a studio that is expert at remakes, working for a publisher with an insanely deep backlog of beloved classics, was always a recipe for printing money at a steady cadence.
Leave them alone and they print money forever, little or no opportunity cost. Come the fuck on
BREAKING: PlayStation is shutting down Bluepoint Games, the studio responsible for modern remakes of classic games such as Demon's Souls and Shadow of the Colossus, Bloomberg News has learned.
A shocking end for a well-respected studio.
C’est confirmé : des milliers de riches ne payent pas d’impôt sur le revenu
Une note de deux sénateurs montre que 13 335 millionnaires n’ont pas payé d’impôt sur le revenu en 2024, notamment grâce à l’optimisation fiscale.

Survey: tell us how you're using AI GamesIndustry.biz is running an editorial survey (with no commercial involvement) to find out how the industry is using AI, how you think it should be used, and how it should be presented to players. It's quite short, simple, and anonymous, although there's the option to give your email address if you'd like to talk more. Please note this survey is only for those working in the industry, not the general public. You can fill out the survey here. The survey will run until Wednesday 25 February, and we'll be reporting the results as part of a run of coverage on GamesIndustry.biz, in an effort to look past the controversy and judge the impact AI is having on how games are made and marketed.

However, I feel that C# is somewhat heavy and bloated now, like if you try to force a lot of more modern concepts into something that was not designed for that 20 years ago.
I think Swift (or Rust, and others) do a better job these days on many levels.
I had to do some pretty important refactors to produce efficient code. These refactors end up with less maintainable or readable code in many cases. Some don't. Of course, if I have to do these refactors, that's our fault and we should have done it better in the first place.
I am right in the middle of optimizing our game, and there are many aspects of C# that identify it as a language designed primarily for productivity and not high efficiency. For example, using Enum.HasFlag() boxes every time. And of course, the GC that triggers whenever it feels the need.
As I became really upset with C# memory management lately, I consider giving a try at SwiftGodot next time.
Love that AI, a thing we hate and don’t want, steals everything, ruins everything, shittifies everything. Drinks our water, plagiarizes our art, pisses all over our information fidelity, drives kids to suicide, serves the right-wing, and fucks up our devices and services. Good job, techbros!

Big day today for the studio The Demo of our New Game Battlestar Galactica: Scattered Hopes is Live!

This is a good example of the hidden costs of AI agents trying their best to ruin everyone's time.
