This is absolutely true. And if we weren’t supposed to do it, then God wouldn’t have rested — God is infinite! God has no need to rest! But God rested.
I am blessed to serve a congregation that offers sabbath respite, so I’ve got to model it for my own sake and theirs. Just…the matter of “when” can be a hulking psychological obstacle.
For my entire adult life, I was a political operative or business owner, meaning work happened on my time because it had to. At 36, I’ve got my first ever “steady” job and am realizing the massive stress of figuring out HOW to take time off without leaving people high and dry.
Literally every video on this link got interrupted by an ad and re-started before any of the action could take place. This is the only news site I know that has solid reporting and an unusable website due to ads. It is almost impossible to navigate.
The awkwardness of realizing you are on mute and saying "sorry" to a zoom room that can't hear you on Zoom is the digital version of saying "you too" when the concession stand clerk says "enjoy your movie."

She just lost reelection BIG in the Dem primary to a progressive pastor & activist, Rodney Sadler. 70% to 22%!
