The Updated Aoi Chudas Touch Raffle Announcement! The new Mega Raichu Y and X forms are bursting into the scene from where Aoi was perched previously. The words "Chudas Touch" have been also blown to the sides from the entrance. Aoi is blown to the left with a very shocked appearance at their sudden entrance. "Chuus who you want to be" "All it takes is one touch" still remains below the two new Chu forms. There's a set of the Pikachu evolution line underneath, with a Pikachu looking shocked, Pichu appearing pleased, Raichu concerned and a dizzy looking Alolan Raichu.

My OC is an giant great big shapeshifting slime friend who also masquarades as an Avali.

Neither wear clothes normally. If anything they wear clothes for fashion or practical purposes but no one minds/bats an eyelid if they rock up naked.

World Building Wednesday: What is your OCs' setting's relationship to nudity? Nudity in general, public nudity, is it something that's only seen in the movies/theater outside the home on rare occasion, is it common on statuary, are there street fairs or parades? Etc.

Sex and romance and commonly thought of as two inseparable parts of a whole concept called "love". But life is more complicated than that! Romance and sex can work together wonderfully, of course, but they also exist as separate needs and drives. Those who brought up their relationships to defend against the dehumanization of asexual people had the drive for romance, but not for sex. That was the missing piece to my identity. I am asexual AND aromantic. So, what does it mean if you lack both sex AND romance in your life, and you knew trying to fake wanting either would only lead to tragedy? Does that mean you're a cold, unfeeling husk who's doomed to be alone and unloved forever?

Of course not! Love comes in many forms! I believe that no one source of love is inherently superior to any other. (The hearts read: Peers, family, old friend, new friend, pets, family) The world constantly tells us that now matter how much we are loved by our friends, family, and/or communities... ...we are worthless if we are lacking in a relationship that's both romantic and sexually active in a very specific way. "WHAT! That don't make no sense to ME!!" The belief that one kind of bond always takes precedence over all others is a weapon that abusive people can use to keep their victims trapped in toxic relationships. "I'm the only one you need." And it can drive people to believe they're all alone in the world just because they're not currently dating or married to someone.

Being asexual doesn't mean I think sex is an unnecessary evil. Being aromantic doesn't mean I think romance is an elaborate farce. "They're perfectly natural needs! If you want it, then go for it!" Heck, I like both consuming and creating mushy stuff myself! It's fun! "And then... they held hands!! Oh my, teehee" I'm just tired of the assumption that every one of the world's billions of teenagers and adults have the same exact relationship goals. It can be tough to deal with sometimes. Most folks just don't understand. "You're just a late bloomer!" But life's too short to waste time being miserable just because people say you should be. As long as you're kind to others as well as yourself, you'll find that there's a lot of appreciate!

I hope that this comic finds its way to people who need to feel seen! 💚

My name is Chu. I've identified as asexual for many years. I'm not sure when I first heard the term and applied it to myself. But something about it didn't fit. I couldn't quite put my finger on why. An asexual person is someone who does not feel sexually attracted to other people. "That's me!" This gives us an unfair and inaccurate reputation as being cold freaks of nature who can't feel love. "(Thought I saw a quarter around here...)" When I see other asexual people defend themselves in articles and interviews, their counterargument to those assumptions is usually something like... "But I have a boyfriend!" "I like dating!" "I've had many sexual relationships!" "We're married!" Which is TOTALLY FINE, but... ...that ain't me.

I've never been in a relationship, or even on a single date, in my entire life! I haven't been rejected. It's not a matter of being shy. I just never paid that sorta stuff much mind. Who cares about that when I have comics to make and video games to play? The only times I really care are when outside forces made me feel self-conscious. "Don't worry, you'll find someone eventually!" "Oh, I'm not worried." "You just haven't found the right person!" "I also ain't looking!" There was one time when my mom kept asking me if I "liked" anyone. She wasn't satisfied with "no". She even assured me that it would be okay if I wanted to confess that I was actually a lesbian. "UH..." I appreciated the sentiment. There are millions of gay people who never got that kind of acceptance from their family. "But... That ain't me!"

I'm extroverted. I like going ot to meet people and make new friends. "Hi!" "Hey!" "Yo!" "Konnichiwa!" "'Sup!" No matter where I lived, I had no trouble becoming a part of a new network of friends. Whenever I travel to conventions for my work as a cartoonist, I make even more pals-- and I KEEP them! There were times I tried mentally flipping a "romance switch" to see if anything would happen between me and friends I felt really close to. Could I see my best friends in a different light? NOPE! I never felt anything different. "Wanna play a video game?" "Sure!" And so it went until I read "The Invisible Orientation" by Julie Sondra Decker in 2016. Aromanticism: People who are not romantically attracted to others are called aromantic. "OH SNAP! IT ME!"

Here's my autobio comic about realizing I was not just #asexual, but #aromantic too! I made this back in 2017 but it still feels as relevant as ever.
