How hard would it be to do a database dump, set up a clean minimalist install with no plugins, and have minimal functionality? That can help figure out if the VPS is pwned too.
First thing I’d check is your plugins to make sure none are malware or crypto
miners. It’s been around 10 years since I’ve worked on Wordpress, but I’ve seen things about there being a lot of compromised plugins or installs.
What’s the problem? I assume it’s too high?

For trains, you actually have two options: Amtrak or using SEPTA to get to NJ Transit and using NJ Transit to NYC or Hoboken or Newark Penn station and then there’s the PATH as an inter-state “subway” to get you into Manhattan.
Between Philadelphia and NYC you should probably just use the trains. That’s part of the one corridor of the US where rail is available and reasonably reliable.
Your flight back, you should probably be okay.
