It depends! The one I use at work is an interchangeable-bit, ¼-inch-drive, but I also have several screwdrivers (notably flatblade) where the bit itself was made with square-bar steel, rather than round-bar. Those lend themselves to the "wrench trick" a lot better, since the torque is on the steel.

Screwdrivers generally having six sides is also more-or-less coincidence. The flutes are there for increased surface area (and thus increased grip surface) for the size, however if the flutes were wider (and the edges narrower), it would be less comfortable to grip. Same with adding more flutes.
Unless your screwdriver has a forged metal hilt, I don't recommend doing that - not only is plastic generally weaker than tool steel (and thus you risk shearing the hilt), you also risk damage to the driver head, or the screw itself.
Was watching a video on the history of the screwdriver's shape, and... managed to get further than I thought I would before they incorrectly said the shape was so you can throw a wrench around the handle for more torque.

Honestly? This is something that I think would probably feel weird for a while, until you got used to it. The glue likely wouldn't be able to dry in time if used sufficiently to keep the latex bonded to you, but the viscosity would add an interesting dynamic, methinks.
Here's hoping not, though: for the first time in a long time I'm genuinely curious as to the evolutionary lines of the starters.
I'd have to look, but I think most of the fire starters got the bipedal treatment (with Fuecoco being the notable outlier)...

Got the car back. Looks mint, thankfully. Had a bit of stress before we left because I went to check the engine condition and the hood release wouldn't actuate, but that was a quick fix for them to do.
