Updated from the last time I mentioned 'em! Mini case studies on brand + rebrand projects, a look bts on website projects, and so much more coming on the full-service projects I've been quietly working on here at Rae Design HQ...
(continued)
YESSSS. I feel like Iβve been in this space for a minute. π
Itβs hard to point out the bad actors and really watch out for them.
However, I will add that Iβve had some pretty great experiences too!
It was so nice to really get in the flow and reflect on all of these projects I've worked on in the past few years!
I'm not quite finished with the case studies here, but I'm closer than I was before and that's really all that matters to me.
It's progress baby.
DAMN! Be safe and extra cautious (as I'm sure you already are!)
I share things like...
- whats going on bts at Rae Design HQ, what I'm struggling with, and how I'm getting through it
- lil peeks at projects I'm working on, like brand refreshes, photography, and lots of websites lately.
(continued...)
YES EXACTLY π
In the end what matters is the client feeling confident enough to actually use and/or implement what we just worked on.
YES PLZ I LOVE THIS β because milestones AFTER the project is complete π₯°
I think that'll help you (+clients) actually take action on the project you just completed βΒ whether its strategy or just design. You (or the client) still has to take action on it for it to have a chance at working.
And itβs hard to trust again when youβve been let down and disappointed before.
It feels easier to maintain that DIY energy even tho it could be exactly whatβs holding you back.
Yes, and youβre stuck paying the bill! I think that brings a yuuuuge buyer hesitation β especially when buying services that donβt have an immediate deliverable like brand strategy (or any strategy work really).
Itβs the question of, βis this actually gonna help or am I just wasting time & money?β
OPE love this point. There's been lots of times that a sales page doesn't match the actual experience I have and its so disappointing. π
I hear this happen a LOT in the design world from my clients perspective. And at the end of the day, what matters is how the client feels about the project, not the designer. (Even though the designers input is still important, it's not the only thing that matters)
That's exactly what I want βΒ for them to feel supported and comfortable enough to tell me if something isn't sitting right rather than just going with it b/c they're scared or uncomfortable to say something!
OOF. Firstly βΒ just considering other humans and where they're at can change the perspective of how they view and interact with your business.

I think its a 10, easy! But I don't have stats or data to really back it up. π
β¨ Giving people the space to disagree or question what we're working on β if we can't be comfortable having uncomfortable conversations, I can't create something that'll be really impactful for them.
For me, that means:
β¨ My clients know where + how to give feedback (and when a conversation is needed to clarify)
β¨ Sending updates on the project β whether we're on schedule or things are a bit behind. I send recaps of where we're at and if I need anything from them to move forward.
Customer experience to me is how interacting with my brand leaves a person feeling... whether they're a client or not.
But also... CX is really nurturing the clients I do have and ensuring they have an easy yet informative process to follow when working with me.
