Absolutely going to bed early; tomorrow starting to take capsules packed with little guys
Brain lacking concept of organic life other than myself. Thorough
Pristine
Not sure how I got anything done today, I'm on my third round of antibiotics and all my cavities are illuminated with chemical neon glow like some post apocalyptic subway system with empty trains running round. There is no life here
I don't like it
Took some time today to look at all the book drafts I've got knocking about and I still like all of them. I should finish one maybe, there's years and years of idle drafts here
Argh
Well done to all my colleagues who did school visits etc today for world book day. I was hiding out as usual, too much book, too much day
today's episode is really good i think. you guys know about the tomb of the unknown clown. would you like to know more???? nogodsnomayors.com
really tired of conversations about how we need to get people to spend more time offline that don't acknowledge that one of the reasons people ARE online is their access needs aren't being met in physical spaces. This is especially true for queer people and disabled people.
I've got the "there's more to life than a little money" speech from Fargo stuck in my head and it's a beautiful day
A bunch of intricate tiny chairs and a beer can
The winning chair and the can type it was crafted from
My favourite tiney chair with tiny woven metal straps
As seen in the Nelson airport, a contest to make the best tiny chair out of a beercan. My cold hard heart softens
I especially enjoy boring things! But yeah, correct otherwise.
I'm on a waiting list to be assessed, never considered it but my niece is telling me needing coffee to calm down isn't normal. - I just figured everything being tedious is how people live but apparently there's little chemical treats for doing random stuff??
This is me listening to younger people with diagnosed ADD/ADHD trying to explain neurotypical motivation to me and I'm just very baffled
My motivations are "this needs doing, I guess I'll do it" and enjoying a process. If the motivation was to feel happy about finishing a thing, wouldn't I be going around looking for things to finish all the time? Seems weird.
People keep talking about dopamine and that you're supposed to feel great when you finished something or get praise, do they mean that literally? Like how tasty food feels good? Or something? Do I just not have that? I can't quite imagine it.
THANK you I was developing a headache trying to work out what that word was meant to be.
World book day event madness tomorrow. I have my props (horse's head, giant snake, various beards, cuddly toy Mjolnir) and my hand sanitiser. Now I just need a clean joke to tell the kids if something goes wrong and I need to fill time. What's your favourite child-friendly joke?
I totally read it as a kind of chronic headache

To me, this falls in line with some of the anti-higher education rhetoric and the overall disdain that the tech industry has toward history and humanities. If you do not value learning and you do not know how to research on your own, it's much easier to manipulate you into believing anything.
Shouldn't be funny, but I just snorted at this promise of "making sure" that Thames Water are "not hiking up the price for polluting our rivers". I hope strongly worded letters are being written to make sure river pollution remains affordable for all, yes
Meanwhile I just decided that tiny pancakes can go on granola with the yoghurt and jam why not
Very tired today, I think I'll go to the park cafรฉ for fresh air and second coffee. I need to write a few blog posts but... Maybe not today.
Today is the last day to check your ALCS account before we start preparing for the March payment. You know what to do, make sure all looks correct & let us take it from there ๐ธ
If you need to update your bank details, get in touch before 5pm
"If I was to use ChatGPT for my designs rather than our designer Sean, that's taking money out of the local area into the hands of a multibillionaire ... removing value from the local community and local artists [and] into the hands of some of the richest people in the world."

๐จ It looks like the UK government is gearing up to upend copyright law in favour of AI companies, legalising the theft of their work.
This is despite creatives' huge protests, and despite previous proposals being roundly rejected by the public.
Please spread the word.

Absolutely! Picture books are packed with visuals crafted to elicit emotion, full of leading questions and open ones, characters presented in carefully constructed situations. It's all there already!
Politics are theatre and poetry. That's why people in power like to declare art a pursuit for the elites, and a waste of time for everyone else. They don't like media literacy.
