Hey, anything that gets people out of cars and on two wheels is a good thing, no?

When someone says β€žScientists do not want you to knowβ€œ you can dismiss everything from there on. Scientists want you to know. They are desperate that you know. They can’t shut up about what they found out and want you to know.

Where do I configure the new β€œhome” screen in Reddit? This new algorithm based home screen sucks. I just want β€œlatest”, accidentally click on β€œnews” and get angry.

China’s 450km/h bullet train is the fastest ever built Dart between Beijing and Shanghai in under four hours, with airline-like business class comfort.

China is testing a train that will go 280mph, making it the fastest conventional train in the world.

The US can't get its shit together to build a single new line.

putting this out there now: if the OpenJS Foundation and React Foundation ever merge (they will), they *need* to keep the Foundation structure that the Node.js Foundation started with.

In my opinion, the Linux Foundation will likely try to ensure that doesn't happen.

Hey are you in the Seattle area or interested in being in the Seattle area in early June? Let's hang out and talk about #ATProto at #CascadiaJS! 😁

Agree. Puddles suck with cars. You need to get towed out.

On the bike or with the bike? That must be quite a trip!

Haven’t been to a lot but so far it’s been more focused on hiking & driving. Will do some more research, thanks!

Bike theft? And I’m worried if these destinations are β€œbikeable”, especially with kids. Currently looking at National
Parks east of CO.

Sorry that was stupidly formulated on my part. We’re taking the car and want to camp in / near several national parks. Wondering if I should bring the bikes for the entire family, especially if we have hotel stops along the way I’m a little worried.

Anyone who’s done extended road trips in the US and took bicycles? Wondering if it’s worth it, risks, etc?

One great thing about having kids is that they can tell you what they want to eat and then after you've made it and put it down in front of them they say they don't want it and that it's really yucky

Daaamn! I switched the region and thought we'll get "a little faster". This is nearly zero startup time, compared to the >1-2 (or sometimes >10) minutes on us-central1! Will switch all my jobs now. Thanks!

most underused feature of markdown is just using 1. to prefix every ordered list item; the numbers get handled magically for you if you do that but if you put the numbers it'll use what you put

That's for protests though. For everyday life? We had a person with Ray Ban / Meta glasses on the playground the other day. They took them off after I raised my concerns with the children running around, but not everyone will be that considerate.

How do we stop this nightmare? I already switched to a different brand for sunglasses and goggles (boycott Oakley), but this is next level privacy invasion.

I'm not a big fan of plastic stuff, but because of my happy childhood memories with Lego, I got my kid a box of random Lego pieces and he's been in the play room for over an hour, just singing and playing and it's so nice to have some piece and quiet. Hope it lasts 🀞
