Roast lamb, roast potatoes, peas and carrots. Old school. With a nice Bordeaux red.

I bought myself a very simple Dobsonian telescope a few years ago and now have nice dark skies to use it on. Any tips for learning where things are in the night sky (apart from observing and making notes)?

It doesn’t feel quite right to β€œlike” these posts, but it is the only way to say that we are reading your diary and wishing you the best.

Watching Peter Gabriel live in Athens in 1987 and can’t help feeling that I wish I could experience the feelings that a really successful musician feels playing in front of that many adoring fans.

Tea with new (us) next door neighbours, walk into town to have a Negroni, back to supper of roast chicken breast, roast crushed potatoes and creamy mustard leeks, bottle of red burgundy.

This is what retirement is all about. 😁

Ooh, shiny!

Saw The Comet is Coming at The Engine Rooms in Southampton and just could not believe how he could play like he did without seeming to take a breath.

Price has doubled since we (very, very luckily) filled our tank a couple of weeks ago! 😳 Terrible for so many people.

I wish people would stop posting stuff from X on here. I left that cesspit to get away from just the kind of stuff that is being cross posted here. 😑

First clear night for ages. Went out with binoculars for a bit of star gazing. Moon was very bright but still managed good views of Jupiter, Orion and even the Pliedes. Not managed to see those without a telescope before. Need to get telescope put back together ready for a dark night.

We are lucky to have 6 pubs, three wine bars and two beer bars within walking distance. 30 mins there, 35 back (we live at the top of a steep hill 😁).

Smell of freshly baked sourdough filling the house this grey Monday morning. A good start to the week.

What we actually had was home made wild garlic ravioli stuffed with crab and Cornish cheese served with a pea sauce. Very green, but delicious!
