World Baseball Classic is baseballing. US coming back from losing 8-0 against Italy to now only 8-4 with two innings left.
Itβs a shame I wonβt care about MLB again until July.
Imagine instead of looking up the time or just remembering the time difference between two places, but then also trying to figure out if 2pm is the middle of the night or solar noon there. China basically does this, one timezone focuses on Beijing meanwhile Russia has 8 timezones over the distance.
People in the 60s did too. Eliza was doing this same thing despite literally being hardcoded.
She's like an old samurai whose great battles are behind her but every once in a while she kills a man with piece of paper just to prove a point
Depends. This case it was, but I saw a few folks walk out. I have amcβs a list so one movie a month and the rest is already paid for. So in this case it didnβt cost me anything.
Check AMCs as well. Itβs on at some of them here in NYC.
I saw this at AMCβs βsight unseenβ a few weeks ago, literally not knowing what I was walking into because they only tell you after the previews. It was so wonderful and so unique for film lately. Smiling and laughing and joyful in a way that I and probably a lot of others really needed that night.
Again from a friend whoβs filling it out.
I received it from a friend, but there may have been confusion. (I don't speak German so I didn't try to read the ballot aside from staring at the columns and names)
Correction: Austria
You're allowed 60 total votes, but you're allowed to distribute either 1, 2, or 3 votes to each candidate. Unless you choose a full party slate, then you're allowed to cross out people in the slate you don't want to vote for.
If you go over 60 your entire ballot is now invalid.
I just found the most insane ballot in the world, and of course, it's from Germany.

Ring tried to make mass surveillance heartwarming with their Super Bowl ad and the backlash from literally everyone had them end a partnership probably a year+ in the making four days later.
The DoD and Trump chose the *worst* two issues to hold Anthropic to account for. Pretty much every ideology except totalitarianism agrees mass domestic surveillance and unregulated automated killing are bad ideas. Libertarians, classical conservatives, anarchists and anyone to the left of Scalia.
Thereβs a lighthouse out there thatβs pretty cool to look at for like 5 minutes.
Reminds me of that song after 9/11 βIβm just a singer of simple songs. I donβt know the difference between Iraq and Iranβ. Even when I 15 I remember being viscerally angry at such an insane comparison.
I'm not entirely sure how they did it, but they've completely cleared the streets around my office in Midtown #NYC.
They paid a lot of people good wages to do the job effectively, thank you for coming to my socialism talk
This is the same argument that effective altruism makes: Trust us, it'll pay off in a timeframe long enough that you cannot understand it. Only, we, the smartest, truly grasp the potential and therefore are above reproach or argument.
Your OP certainly sounded like it?
I remember reading a write up by Cards Against Humanity who tried, really really hard, to find a manufacturer in the US but even the few shops in the US that could handle their volume were 10x more expensive, with much lower quality. There was no way around it. So they did www.explainsthejoke.com
Every local electrician who no longer had a house to wire up because lumber prices skyrocketed was affected, every plumber, every carpet layer. It wasn't just the foreman and the construction company losing out when it's too expensive to build or renovate (and now there's less housing stock).
It's not like all businesses are corporate behemoths stealing from the good hard working proletariat. MANY small businesses import and export all sorts of different products. Many of those shut down because of the tariffs, and those middle class, local, jobs they create, were lost because of it.
I'm so frustrated with these takes. The other side was "the president gets to ignore the constitution."
Tariffs are terrible for every day people, for food costs, for medical treatments, for building materials for basic housing, and there's a reason that Congress alone was given the power to enact.
US Curling has a stronger DEI program than most universities or the government these days. www.usacurling.org/diversity-in... :β
There's paste ups all around Brooklyn about it.
The US Treasury wonβt cease to exist in 5, 10, or 15 years. If bonds arenβt safe literally nothing is and youβre better with gold coins in a coffe can under the bed.
Camera Obscura is such a beautiful (and tragic) band. βJamesβ will always make me sad in a good way.
Walking around for 20 minutes I saw at least 4 plows in Greenpoint. 2 within 2 minutes of each other.
The competence is breathtaking.
