The genre has been slanting that direction for a while now, so I'm not all together surprised. That's one source ... a big one ... and they're obviously prone to lean closer to fantasy, but yeah ... that tracks.

Sometimes, I am 'Thick as a Brick'. I just realized there was more to the Jethro Tull connection with Opeth than just Ian Anderson narrating and playing flute on Opeth's latest album.
Guess a Jethro Tull deep dive is in my near future.
Be on the Look Out For ... THE WIDOWS OF WINDING GALE by Kealan Patrick Burke (@kealanpatrickburke.bsky.social), releasing later this month!
We all know that @thisishorror.bsky.social is one of the best interview podcasts out there, and @pseudopod.org is one of (the?) best short fiction podcasts. So don't miss @chronicleflask.katday.com on TiH episode 652. Gold mine stuff for short fiction writers especially.
Cats do not fear the Funhole.

and TY to @lostmirror.bsky.social for the Riddle portrait ♥️🐈
I've haven't listened to this one yet (there's so so much), doing so right now, and DAMN ... might need this one on vinyl.
This Café du Monde coffee I picked up today is really good! For a dark roast it packs a lot of punch ... my pulse is accelerated and I can hear colors.
David Cronenberg's The Picture of Dorian Gray
My WIP is like what if Clive Barker wrote High Fidelity and it's post dark academia, which reminds me I've never read High Fidelity. I'm going to read Telegraph Avenue instead because jazz.
THE SMALL HOURS by Bob Pastorella. Cover art by Betty Rocksteady. Blurb by Michael David Wilson, comping the book to Peter Jackson and Adrian Lyne.
THE SMALL HOURS, my splatterpunk vampire novel published by @ghoulish.bsky.social wants to sink its fangs into you.
Fangs, nudity, and garden tools.
Amazing cover art by @bettyrocksteady.bsky.social.

It's funny, it's horny, and it's very, very bloody.
Listening to Herbie Hancock's Empyrean Isles. Trying to broaden my horizons with jazz, which is fairly easy to do. Find an artist you like, look at who jammed with them, follow the paths. It's like everybody works with everybody at some point in the jazz world.
Oh yeah ... purple! This is kickass!
Today's treat on This Is Horror Podcast is the conversation with CJ Leede.
@ceejthemoment.bsky.social talks about American Rapture, Maeve Fly, her writing routine, and much more.

There are albums that I didn't like when they released that I'm really enjoying now. One is The Downward Spiral (if you knew how many times I heard Closer at the local dance clubs, you'd understand), another is Steely Dan's Aja (too young to appreciate it), and Soundgarden's Superunknown.

My baby is back in print today 🥰
A woman trying to save her city has to slit a few throats to do it in this noir-inspired dark fantasy world, a story I wanted to tell that was the reason I became a writer.
NO GODS FOR DROWNING, out now from Bad Hand Books 🔪🌊

Very excited about this one folks. TOUCH ME is a wild and horny ride that's funny and at times, rather gory ... loved it!
SWEET! I've seen the videos of the concerts.
Tell him hi and to reissue Hesitation Marks in vinyl again!
I haven't been in much of mood for anything (I wonder why ????) but I forced myself to sit down, crank up some NIN and write some words.
Now I've written. Still feel zoned out, guess that's kinda of how we're all feeling now.
But I refuse to live in fear, therefore I must live.
Pretty GOD DAMN cool interview with Jess Hagemann over at @timberghostpress.bsky.social! take a peek.. unless you're too scared..

Once again, it's Monday, and that means it's time for the 5 must-read horror articles online, curated by @kevharrison.bsky.social, only at @thisishorror.bsky.social.
I liked Village, as well as Biohazard. Requiem is not for me, but I'm glad to see so many having fun with it. My old hands just can't keep up with the game, which is frustrating because I can handle the controls of Ghost of Yōtei just fine.
Today's treat on This Is Horror Podcast YouTube is the full conversation with Stephen Graham Jones.
@sgj.bsky.social talks about Night of the Mannequins, writing slashers, his best prank gone wrong, and much more.

It's probably me and my old hands, but after giving Resident Evil: Requiem a go today, I'm out. I even changed the setting to casual and I can't get Leon to melee his way through the infected. I've died more times than I care to admit. Killer graphics and sound. Y'all have fun, it's not for me.
The brown paper wrapper for Led Zeppelin’s IN THROUGH THE OUT DOOR.
Whoever placed this sticker on the wrapper on this album, probably ruining the whole aesthetic, should never have another peaceful day in their miserable life.
Some people just don’t give a fuck.
When I do visit threads, I block every account that posts clickbait articles that deliberately leave the subject out.
You should too.
Do it.
Bowie Deep Dive: I have just two albums I want to give a chance before I finish the 70s and slip into the 80s. It's ALL really great stuff.
For the record, I'm more of a fan of Bowie's later years, so the closer I get to albums that sound like those, the more I'm going to like it.
I got Miles Davis' BIG FUN on vinyl. A compilation album, 4 tracks, totaling 1 hour and 38 minutes of 70s psychedelic jazz.
This is going to produce some wild as hell writing sprints.
