this was hiding in an old image of my win2k system, I guess I was testing the layout in IE6 (which my site now barely works on, lol)
basic layout to an old version of my site, aside from the navbar the only text is "hi. im content." repeating
current version of my site
found an extremely early version of my site! it was just this and a single-line placeholder 404 page at the time
...and for comparison, what that same page looks like now
my fursona sits at a terminal/workstation connected to a DEC VAX 11/785 in the background. she's confused
vaxen + vixen
pair of batteries with a chipmunk, hamster, and turtle on them
pair of batteries still in the modem with severe leakage
board inside the modem. solder mask is warped near one of the battery terminals
the modem also came with these cute batteries. plus a pair left corroding inside the modem, nearly destroying it (it survived, somehow)
unfortunately I can't get the modem to do much yet. it uses V.23, which none of my modems support (save for *maybe* one, which needs new caps)
the hope is to at least get a handshake, then reverse its protocol(s?) via a standard PC modem. on top of countless other projects...
casio super picky talk jd-370. on-screen is a drawing containing a sprite of a hamster, with text pointing to it reading "fucking HAMPTER"
casio super picky talk jd-370 connected to a kv-20 modem
you might be aware of the Picky Talk, a line of PDAs released in the late 90s by Casio, only in Japan. but did you know it had its own *modem*?
users could exchange data over the line if they both owned modems, but Casio also offered a dial-in service (somewhat like a BBS) named "Super Groovy Net"
an amber monochrome monitor displaying some example commands (touch, mkdir, cd, echo, cat) in use. beside them is a sketch of my fursona, angrily looking at the viewer, shouting 'HEY!!! Are you even paying any fucking attention?!'
shell lesson
pocket postpet opened to the stamp editor (24x24 pixel art editor), with a fursona doodle
email composer with many stamps in a row, with writing "The council." below them
sharp memory display on a breadboard next to a DHT11 humidity sensor. the display shows current and historical temperature/humidity in a speech bubble. the bubble is coming from a sprite of my fursona wearing glasses.
made a temp/humidity sensor (+ fursona channeling her inner โ๏ธ๐ค)
front cover of "Your Own Computer" by Mitchell Waite and Michael Pardee. it shows an illustration of a guy hugging a terminal-looking computer, with a thought bubble containing more illustrations of what he'll be able to do with the computer (learning, letting his kids play games, and tracking bills).
the same cover, but I drew over it with my fursona instead
my very own computer... imagine that...

IMPORTANT TIP FOR NEW BSKY USERS!!
if you're eating a meal and can't finish it, you can put it in the fridge or freezer for later. this is a technique known as "leftovers"

render of my fursona, a pink fox-goat. she's wearing antlers with bells + mistletoe attached, and looks pretty pissed off about it. cheesy clipart is pasted around her

Drawing on the Alto is hard
maybe it's Haruka's self-portrait?

close-ish, mac SE accelerator board

most of the stuff I purchased or found at the show
and that's a wrap! this year's #VCFMW was easily the best thus far, but it also completely wiped me out (eyes nervously at unpacked boxes)
thanks to all who stopped by, and even more thanks to those who bought stickers! first time doing that so I'm glad it worked out okay.
(3hr of sleep voice) TODAY!!
table map of vcf. there appears to be a figure on tables S18 and 19! enhancing shows that it's ME
I'll be tabling at #VCFMW this year (also known as "next weekend")! if you're in the northwest chicago-flavored region come say hi!
