Yeah, I'm never giving my email or phone to a politician. I've seen how badly they spam them for donations, and sell them to other politicians.
Requiring each person to sign up for spam in addition to news is very different from them actively reaching out to everybody.
Jayapal is my rep. I've never received anything from her besides campaign mailers.
I've never received any communication from my Congressional reps that isn't an election mailer or a donation request.
Meanwhile my state reps send a quarterly status update to every mailbox in their district.
