Registration is officially open for CCL’s Virtual Conservative Conference & Lobby Day! cclusa.org/conservativeconference
This annual event allows right-of-center climate advocates to link up with the eco-right movement, learn about climate policy, and lobby Congress to pass it.
On Thurs., Feb. 26 at 4 p.m. ET / 1 p.m. PT, Fervo Energy co-founder and CEO Tim Latimer will share how his team is redefining geothermal power and putting gigawatts of clean, firm power within immediate reach.
Register for the free online event here: us02web.zoom.us/meeting/regi...
Experts say Fervo Energy is one of the most promising climate tech companies out there.
It is "slated to open a 100-megawatt enhanced geothermal system next year," @heatmap.news reports.
CCL's Geothermal Action Team is hosting an event next week to hear from them!

We want Congress to pass a comprehensive permitting reform package that will be a net benefit to clean energy and the climate.
Our new training series breaks down everything you need to know: citizensclimatelobby.org/blog/advocac...
We're writing a blog post about this that won't be behind a paywall - stay tuned!
Volunteers at the Citizens Climate Lobby booth in Minneapolis
Thank you Minnesota Citizens Climate Lobby for hosting a booth at this year's Great Northern Festival here in Minneapolis! @cclusa.org empowers every day people to drive climate solutions in Congress.
Thank you for all your years of advocacy!
We've got some fantastic news for you, Bill 😉 bsky.app/profile/cclu...
In addition to lobby meetings and calls, CCLers generated local media and educated their communities about the bill.
We're thrilled this policy idea has now made it across the finish line! As CCL continues to advocate for trade policies that reduce emissions, this policy win is an important one.
CCL volunteers continued to reach out to Congress in support of the PROVE IT Act throughout the first half of 2024, eventually raising it as a primary ask in 442 lobby meetings on Capitol Hill in the summer.
In January 2024, CCLers generated a targeted slate of calls to Senate EPW Committee members, helping support the bill to committee passage with a vote of 14-5 — even more bipartisan support than was expected at the time.
A bipartisan group of Senators introduced the PROVE IT Act in the Senate on June 7, 2023, just days before our 2023 Summer Conference and Lobby Day. We added the bill to our list of asks, bringing it up in many of our 436 meetings on Capitol Hill.
Language from the PROVE IT Act was included in a funding package that is now law!
"It's like so many legislative accomplishments. It starts years before it's accomplished," Sen. Cramer told @eenews.bsky.social.
CCL is part of the story of those years... 🧵 subscriber.politicopro.com/article/eene...
We need national policy to move our economy to reliable, affordable clean energy as quickly as possible. That’s part of what we’re working on here at CCL!
America's aging power grid infrastructure is tested every time we experience intense weather events. Relying on fossil fuels just isn't a long-term strategy. 👎
Comprehensive permitting reform will help improve grid reliability and resilience by building more clean energy, expanding transmission to connect geographically diverse areas, and more.
We lobby Congress to work together on these solutions, and you can too!

With this weekend's winter storm, millions of people are at risk of losing power.
We need America's electric grid to be more reliable and resilient in situations like this one.

Image is a stylized quote reading: Steady, values-driven work still matters — even when the political winds are rough, and the outcomes are far from guaranteed. The quote is attributed to Ricky Bradley, Executive Director of CCL.
We kicked off 2026 with our January Monthly Meeting on Saturday!
In his State of the Organization update, Executive Director Ricky Bradley explained how we’re pushing for climate progress in today’s challenging political landscape — and why we’re sticking with it.

We've been talking about carbon border adjustment mechanisms — CBAMs — since the earliest days of our carbon pricing advocacy.
Here's a blog post from 2023 that goes a little deeper into this policy idea and its potential impact in the United States:
citizensclimatelobby.org/blog/policy/...
Major #carbonpricing news this month:
The EU has "fully implement[ed] a functioning border carbon adjustment policy."
In order to trade certain goods with Europe, "importers must now pay for the greenhouse gas emissions contained on their products."
www.clearbluemarkets.com/knowledge-ba...
Carbon border adjustment mechanisms (CBAMs) are powerful climate policies.
Analysis from @rff.org projects that in this CBAM design, emissions would "decrease globally by 81 million metric tons in the first year" with even greater reductions over time.

CCL applauds the reintroduction of the Clean Competition Act from @whitehouse.senate.gov & @repdelbene.bsky.social!
The bill "would give domestic companies a step up in the global marketplace while lowering emissions at home & abroad," Sen Whitehouse says.
