The PicoStepSeq code is even designed to run on the Macropad, too.

Highly recommend the AdaFruit Macropad. It has an RP2040 chip, so it can do most everything a Pico can do. No solder assembly with a built in screen and basic speaker, a ton of inputs, and it's pretty easy to set up as a keyboard/MIDI controller.

It's definitely cool. Here's a goofy little video of me playing with it, but the github.com/todbot/picos... has some better examples of what it can do.
The Pico is primarily what I've worked with (RP2040 chip) and it's got plenty of power for my needs, though heavy layouts/screen updates I need to optimize a bit more! 😅

Raspberry Pi Pico MIDI Step Sequencer
I've mostly been dabbling in Macropad/MIDI Controller kind of stuff.
My biggest build so far has been this MIDI Step Sequencer github.com/todbot/picos...
I ordered the circuit board then had to source all the components and solder everything. I definitely need to level up my soldering skills/gear.
I think the Espruinos are more expensive and less powerful than Pi Pico, but there may be some variants that are a more balanced. Depends on what you're doing and how deep you want to go into it.
Microcontrollers like Pi/Espruino are definitely computers, but super low-powered compared to a modern computer. With the right hardware you could have a basic terminal. I have seen some NES Emulators running on Pico's!
Nice! I've been experimenting like this lately. It's so fun to make something that works in the real world.
CircuitPython has been relatively easy to get into, but there are microcontrollers that can run JavaScript if you find yourself looking for a more familiar environment www.espruino.com/Pico
Out with :nth-child(), in with :sibling-index()! Just so satisfying to use.

It’s been a hard balance between familiarity and functionality. You don’t want to fix what isn’t broken but you also have to make room for what people don’t even know they want yet.
2.0 definitely takes some adjustment, but it’s definitely worth it!
I tried out the new @codepen.io 2.0 editor! It was a bit confusing at first, but once it clicked, I realized how cool it was 👀

And Google Reader and Google Wave, please. Peak Internet. Everything else has been downhill.
First time I am using the @codepen.io V2 in that article 👇
I no longer need to create a new pen for each tiny CSS change. One pen can hold all my demos with one CSS file.
With my PRO account, I can have up to 50 demos! 😀

Excellent! Mind sharing the formula?
You're fast! 😂
Lovely! Add a little directional awareness in there for a real treat.
Given the current state of the web, maybe we shouldn‘t have killed off Flash?

I was lucky to be a privileged tester of @codepen.io 2.0, and now they have released the Private Beta.

It's finally time to unleash some cool "View Transition" demos because with the 2.0 version, we can have many pages in one pen 👀
Kudos to @chriscoyier.net and the entire team!

Holding up! Haven't had as much time for social / sharing work. Still working hard on CodePen and trying to keep my family sane! How's your world?
