Carl Sandburg’s iconic 1914 poem “Chicago” recently gained fresh relevance when a judge read it aloud in a court ruling addressing DHS use of force.

It's...a lot. I enjoyed immersing in it, but it's tough to recommend. She does with paragraphs what Gertrude Stein did with sentences. All the fog/dream/drug imagery can make the mind wander. It's the outer limit of what a novel can be. Still, it has a pull.
