the problem is WeHo wants a subway, and is willing to fork over cash to get it.
the real problem is that Metro value engineered around a quarter billion in a junction box that could've given us a D line spur through weho to hollywood.
i fear people don't like going to the movies, so i'd get them to fund renovations to the Bruin, Pacific, and Million dollar theaters.
(and then id have them pay good staff to run it.)
subtitles are accidentally off for the taste of things, and i think i'll get 1/3 of the words if i keep the subtitles off
i think i have that one...
ban this through law.
digital to be clear! but im paying a DP and actors and all of that!
link to the whole interview?
i raised $9000, ill have to pay $1000 out of pocket, and we'll have to raise another $2000 or so for post production.
film is expensive and im very lucky im friends with such a good producer.
being annoying has gotten you this far...
(and taught thousands of others how to also be annoying.)
im going to pay for some of my short out of pocket. it'll be worth it, but im still earning my money through restaurant tips. so hopefully it's good karma.
This project in Oakland is a pretty good model of the future of homeownership in urban California.
In 10 years time, you're going to see condo buildings like these all over Los Angeles.

the events are so humgous, that i think the station will get tens of thousands of people to ride the system who never would have thought to do it before.
and once they're on, riding the D line, and the K line to the bowl, they'll learn how to use the system.
part of what im saying is i don't think cut and cover is gonna happen. if we can get it through im all for it!
we're going to extend the D line west, and the C line north and cover santa monica too
i doubt there will be a possibility for a santa monica line to century city, (unless you divert it under melrose for a bit which is wacky) but it will be a great line and help the system out tremendously in the medium term.
i mean $8.00 gas would probably also help
I truly believe we will have a proper metro network when the sepulveda line phase 1, and the K line phase 1 are complete.
these initial operating segments will transform the city, and get us to key destinations quickly. everything else is gravy.
it's a loss leader. westsiders will be able to get on the D line and E line, and go to the hollywood bowl in a reasonable amount of time. Same with people in south LA. this will get more people onto the system.
I hope LA city can participate in future phases if we get Raman in there. Feels like a no brainer around the farmer's market and hollywood for phases 2 and 3.
this is the big one. crazy. LA is going to be a transit city.
“But, as you see, it's a beautiful day, the Strait of Hormuz is open and people are having a wonderful time.”
im a white guy who grew up in *particularly* diverse environments. but america in general is diverse. we want to see ourselves reflected in our movies.
we need a new home for those local shops. really cheap doughnuts and jamaican food there. but i like more housing.
hamnet needs to be seen in a theater full of old white oscar voters at the grove. if you're not surrounded by old ladies balling at the end, you haven't experienced it.
im not mad at any of the nominees. i think this is a *really* good slate.
Tweet from Katie Porter: 0% state income tax for California families making under $100,000. That’s thousands of dollars back in your pocket where it belongs. As Governor, I’ll work the issue at both ends—lowering taxes for those who are struggling and raising them on the biggest corporations that can afford to pay.
Personally, I think people who are between the third and fourth quintile of income-earners in California should probably pay some income tax.
YES!
how? how are you supposed to take away people's votes? these people are delusional and have no idea how government works.
i think he'll time it better and be annoying sometimes to market, then cool down more for the campaign. i think he'll lay low until Dune 3.
