I lost a hat somewhere π if you see it in the devroom it would be great.

Thanks for having me @godevroom.fosstodon.org.ap.brid.gy @fosdem.bsky.social

I agree with you, but I still see people who never lived under communism (20-30-year-olds) that "love Russia" and support putin in his genocidal wars. I assume they will continue with that attitude as they grow older, so the "our brothers" narrative will continue to live on.
Really? You don't have concerns the chinese government can push propaganda to America's young people?
πββοΈ I'm very happy to be back there, this time as a speaker!
If youβll be there, Iβd love to connect. See you in Brussels!
π§πͺFOSDEM and Brussels hold a special place in my heart - this was the first conference of this scale I attended years ago, and it shaped my perspective on the power of open source. Seeing people from so many different backgrounds unite under one passion was nothing short of inspiring.
π€ I'm happy to announce that I'll be speaking at @fosdem.bsky.social this February.
βοΈ My session is part of the Go Devroom and the topic is "The Inner Workings of Go Generics". It will explore the implementation of generics in Go, how we got here and what took so long.
It's an opt-in, you can always choose "Not now".
Can't they just transfer the domains to another provider?
And @gergely.pragmaticengineer.com did a good job of making this podcast about more than Notion mobile apps, bringing up topics like the future of mobile development and career progression.
I enjoyed the latest episode with Notion mobile team. Could no really relate to some stuff they were saying, because I've never done mobile work (not in a work environment at least), but it was interesting to hear about the evolution of the product and how they realised the need to have native apps.
I've been sleeping on The Pragmatic Engineer Podcast until now @pragmaticengineer.com
It's high time I caught up!
Today is a great day for Bulgaria and Romania, as both countries are finally joining the Schengen space fully starting from Jan 1st, 2025. We (Bulgaria) have a land border only with Romania and Greece from the Schengen countries, but it's a big win regardless! www.bbc.com/news/article...

I love living in the EU, but stuff like that trigger me a lot π€¬
Meetup is today and it's going to be live-streamed.
If you want to listen about the implementation of generics in Go and look at some disassembled machine code, you can watch the live-stream at www.youtube.com/live/oJ86goj...
Even though I've been there three times since 2019, this is the first time I'm submitting a talk to any of the dev rooms.
Wish me luck!
@fosdem.bsky.social has a special place in my heart, because it was the first conference of that scale I attended. Until then I couldn't believe that it's possible for a single event to gather so much likeminded people with different backgrounds, but sharing a common interest - open source.

π±πΉ I'll be speaking at the Go Vilnius Meetup this December.
βοΈ The topic is "The Inner Workings of Go Generics." It'll explore the implementation of generics in Go and some history of how that came to be.
π₯ Recording will be available after the session.
I will judge Rogan based on his response to that. I will respect him if he sits with Klitschko and have a well-minded conversation. If he does not, I will simply stop listening to his podcast and lose the respect I have for him. 4/4
I very much liked Wladimir Klitschko's response - he told Rogan in a very civilized manner that he was wrong and asked to come on the podcast to talk about the topic. (cont.) 3/4

shilling the "WW3" narrative as if Putin isn't the one who started it all and telling the president of a country fighting for its existence and its people to "go fuck themselves." (cont.) 2/4
I generally enjoy listening to Joe Rogan's podcast, and I don't share most of the sentiments that the left has towards him. I even think he's much more liberal than people think he is.
However, the last episode has been a shit-shot. Just outright repeating Russian propaganda (cont.) 1/4
KubeCon submission - done β
Spoiler alert: It's a two-person live-action session. One person is an attacker trying to hack a Kubernetes cluster, and the other is a defender protecting it via open-source tools like Falco, Tetragon, and Tracee.
Lesson learned: Don't depend on Go internals. You will be shamed!
I am going over the Go source code because of a presentation I am preparing.
In a few places, there is a wall of shame with projects that use internal stuff they're not supposed to.
I found this hilarious. π€£

Great talk by @mccune.org.uk about the history and evolution of K8s security.
The most interesting part for me was the "Unpatchable 4", which I had not heard about before.
I am thinking of exploring them further in a series of blog posts π

I'm halfway through VIM adventures and I think it's great.
Already learned some new Vim commands. It's fun and interactive.
