Processing astro photos and singing along to "When Doves Cry", which I somehow still remember every single word of, is ok for a Friday night.

This is referring to another press run by Caitlyn Marceau, the same one who is alleged to have screwed over authors at Darklit (I say "alleged" but there's quite a lot of evidence if I'm being honest.) I don't see how anyone could ever trust her again at this point.

This is the Rosette Nebula. It's about seven hours of combined exposure time. I'm very happy with it :) #astrophotography

That's a lot of what I get out of this. I look up into the night sky and it's so remote and so removed from *everything* that I find a lot of peace in it.

I look at a photo like this and I think of that brief moment in Lord of the Rings when the characters look up at the stars and take comfort in them.

One of the greatest comedic actresses in film history passed away today. Everyone should watch something she was in this weekend. I recommend Best in Show... but really there's not a bad pick.

Catherine O'Hara lived a life that you should want to live, that when you die the mourning is almost universal. Truly such a star whose comedy left the world a better place.

40 years ago today, we lost seven heroes aboard Challenger. As an astronaut who commanded the space shuttle after this tragedy, I think about them often. Their courage pushed the boundaries of exploration. Today, we remember their sacrifice and the legacy they left behind.
