A financial instrument where money goes in, produces no actual physical product, and then cannot be withdrawn is an instrument with zero value.

As someone from Philadelphia, I can’t believe Seattle hasn’t learned to grease up tall objects before major sporting events.

High quantities of whelm are achievable but they require volcanoes, a @timber.coyotes.org, and a Hyundai Staria.

I’ve had good luck using a serial port to X/Y/Z-Modem files to and from a Win 95 machine. Teraterm has a version that works all the way back to Win 95.

If the machine has a CD-ROM you can burn a disc on a newer machine to get the Teraterm install files over to the old computer.

At Pancake Rocks in NZ, we randomly ran into two other furries who were suiting at the same time, also travelling. Hey Relay and Simyaz, pleasure to meet y’all!

I was a pretty die hard Linux guy in college, but now I just *do not* have time to mess around. My personal free time is so limited, and I just want to get on with drawing.

I happily donate to open source applications like Inkscape, Pi-Hole, and KeePassXC, but I use those on a Mac.

Oddly they don't do lamp checking here. The signal system has no visibility to burnt out lamps unlike the US. I'm not sure what the rules are if the driver of a non-CBTC equipped encounters a dark signal. CBTC equipped trains have an onboard display of movement authority, and use ATO in the tunnel.

An HCMT that just passed through the metro tunnel stands at the down platform at Caulfield. Both signal heads are extinguished indicating that this train is operating under high capacity signaling / CBTC.

Town Hall station was as beautiful as the previews made it out to be. I still have a hard time accepting a dark signal as "proceed on in-cab indications" though the rationale makes sense.

I feel you. I’m the β€œrelay guy” at work and we are trying to emulate all the functions of safety critical relays in a microprocessor based platform. The team is perpetually surprised about what you can accomplish with just the right number of turns of a specific gauge wire.
