Humans have an innate cognitive bias to develop a suspicion of people who are not part of their ingroup. There are two major possible responses to this. You can try to train yourself out of this reflexive suspicion, or you can double down on it and reify the outgroup as being objectively bad.
People who choose option 2 do not get along well with people who choose option 1. But here's the thing. People who choose option 2 also do not get along with other people who choose option 2, while people who choose option 1 get along gangbusters with other people who choose option 1.
This is why diverse communities are inherently stronger than segregated insular ones, and why overt violence is the only way to break them up. The culture war can only divide the intolerant into ever smaller and more paranoid subunits who trust nobody but themselves.
Intolerant communities can be radicalized to ever deeper and more violent intolerance, but they can never know or understand the strength and resilience that comes from being part of a community where everyone is valued and people aren't constantly terrified of their neighbours.
The flipside of this is, because of that instinctive suspicion that is part of human nature, it is immensely *easier* to propagandize people into intolerance than to encourage greater tolerance. But once it takes root, tolerance is difficult to eradicate. People see the benefits with their own eyes.
Once you understand on a deep neurological level that other people are basically the same as you are even when they do and think weird things, it becomes much more difficult to divide you from your fellow human. That's what scares the bejesus out of the elites. They know we're stronger than them.
We should have a Supernatural spin-off. Give us Girl Dean. Give us a hard drinking, hard fighting, self-loathing, flannel-wearing disaster lesbian and her beloved vintage car. And her platonic life partner, the computer savvy witch.

Judge asks a great Q. Lot of states don't have sex designations but instead rely on trespassing or assault charges, the conduct of alleged perp rather than just sex-status.
I think this is a great argument, beautifully constructed
This is so simple and easy to understand it should be on the lips of every pro-trans politician.
LA City Council’s City President Marqueece Harris-Dawson says he has been pulled over four times while a member of the council; the most recent was this week. He missed a committee meeting because of the stop, according to him.
Among the questions: “how do you have this vehicle,” according to him.
One of the wildest parts of this revelation is that this is really the first I’m aware of this being discussed. The standing city council president (ostensibly the most powerful or second most powerful person in local politics) being pretextual stopped days before a discussion on pretextual stops.
“I cannot hug him, I cannot kiss him.”
One woman, an aunt of a man who was killed during an LAPD interaction by bullets fired from officers. She says it was due to a pretextual stop.
Several aides in the back visibly laughing. Several councilmembers do not look up from their desks.
lol "Goldman Sachs media relations did not approve these interviews.”

No. Absolutely no.
Scottish Opera offers hugely discounted tickets to people under the age of 26. In fact most of the theatres here do, usually for around £10. Which means you could see a whole live show for less than the cost of a ticket to one of Timothee Chalamet’s films. Just saying.
A U.S. oil blockade has cut off the Cuban government from accessing desperately needed fuel as the Trump administration intensifies pressure on Cuba.
Proofing & fixing something is a lot harder than making it in the first place - harder as in, "not possible in human." "AI" in coding has already proved that. The entire premise isn't just flawed, it's a guarantee fail.
Maria Lazar, the conservative candidate in Wisconsin’s supreme court election:
- Ruled in favor of election deniers seeking private health info to prove voter misconduct
- Was endorsed by key players in the bid to overturn the 2020 election
- Defended GOP gerrymandering and voter ID requirements
