37 years ago, on March 4, 1989, all of the frontline of Eastern Airlines went on strike to take on Frank Lorenzo. We remember the strikers today and always - and we continue to fight forward for our careers.

Wishing you a Holi filled with love, laughter, and beautiful memories.
We remember Flight Attendants Anita Lucero, Lisa Church, Monica Smiley, Captain Hal Green and First Officer Trish Eidson.
The plane experienced a rudder hardover while on final approach to runway 35 at Colorado Springs Municipal Airport, causing the plane to roll over and enter an uncontrolled dive. All 25 people on board the Boeing 737 were killed on impact.
United Airlines Flight 585 was a scheduled passenger flight on March 3, 1991, from Denver to Colorado Springs, Colorado, carrying 20 passengers and 5 crew members on board.
Our union is working with airlines to ensure all crews currently stranded in various cities in the Middle East are able to return home. Some Flight Attendants were working commercial flights, while others were operating aircraft on military charter.

Women: Join Unions. Run Unions.
Itβs a great day! @steelworkers.bsky.social @afacwa.org
During Womenβs History Month, we honor the founding Flight Attendants of our Union.
These fearless women provided the foundation for AFA to fight against discrimination on the job including age, weight, race, marital status, having children, for men to have the same rights as women.
If you can say it you can pay it. Itβs a βno excuses cultureβ after all. Contract Now!
United CEO Scott Kirby says he loves Flight Attendants & wants them to have the best contract at βthe best airline in the history of aviation.β But delayed negotiations continue because heβs demanding FAs pay for improvements. That's not how you get the best! Itβs either one or the other, Scott.
The ROTOR Act just died on the House floor.
I donβt want to look in the eyes of another family member who lost a child or parent or spouse. Iβm really disappointed and looking at next steps of how we can get the right legislation passed.
"We owe this to the lives lost on PSA 5342 and PAT 25, to their loved ones, and the people we vow to protect everyday through aviation safety. Our union is dedicated to continuing to work to make this bill law as soon as possible and to continue implementing all the NTSB recommendations.β
βIt is unconscionable that the House failed to pass the ROTOR Act today. This legislation was the clearest and most direct way to avoid midair collisions." @flyingwithsara.bsky.social said.

Today, we remember the 7 crew and 51 passengers lost in the crash of Eastern Air Lines Flight 304, on February 25, 1964. Flight 304 was flying from New Orleans to Washington Dulles when it went down in Lake Ponchartrain, Louisiana, due to pitch failure.
In the investigation, the NTSB recognized the crucial safety role Flight Attendants play in a decompression, and made recommendations intended to ensure that Flight Attendants had immediate access to oxygen bottles in order to avoid being incapacitated.
The aircraft returned to Honolulu, where it landed safely. The heroic actions of the 15 Flight Attendants and the pilots on the flight deck averted a far greater tragedy.
On February 24, 1989, a B747 operating as United Flight 811 lost a cargo door shortly after leaving Honolulu. The explosive decompression that followed blew out several rows of seats, with nine passengers losing their lives.
The ROTOR Act passed the Senate in December, with legislation that required anti-collision devices on aircraft especially in high-risk areas like that of DCA, along w/ other key safety improvements necessary to avoid tragedy. Now, the House must pass the bill to become law. 4/4
As the House considers legislation and oversight of aviation safety, labor remains united in ensuring the tragic lessons of PSA 5342 are not lost, and Congress establishes the highest aviation safety standards to prevent future accidents and any loss of life. 3/4
We strongly support the ROTOR Act because it implements the NTSB's recommendations to mandate ADBS-in now so all aircraft can see each other in real time and avoid midair collisions. 2/4
Tomorrow (Feb. 24, 2026) S.2503, the Rotorcraft Operations Transparency and Oversight Reform (ROTOR) Act, will be up for a vote in the U.S. House of Representatives.
AFA urges a YES vote on S.2503.

Captain Archuleta was jump seating on the flight to Houston and commuting to fly his last Mesa flight before joining our United family. We will never forget our flying partners.
On February 23, 2019, Atlas Air Flight 3591 crashed into a Texas bay as it was preparing to land at IAH. Three people, including Atlas Air Pilot Ricky Blakely, Atlas Air First Officer Conrad Jules Aska, and Mesa Airlines Captain Sean Archuleta died in the February 23 crash.
A little over one year ago, on February 17, 2025, Endeavor AFA Flight Attendants performed a successful evacuation of Delta Endeavor Flight 4819. Even on an inverted aircraft, the crew of 4819 made it possible for every passenger to get out of the plane.
We are aviationβs first responders.
Congrats VW workers!! β
Congratulations @uaw.org members at VW! Youβre an inspiration to workers everywhere! β
