HIS NAME IS BIGFOOT
at the very bottom is the summer of 2007 when i was obsessed with writing pop songs for three months (melodies as much as the lyrics)
the concept of me making an iceberg graph of my writing career......
anyway thank you to the multiple people who've told me that this is their favorite fic of all time?? and someone just recently got it bound for their birthday?? this fic put all of us through hell but ten years later i'm still very pleased with the outcome :)
i could've told this story any dozens of ways but i chose a way that makes it very psychologically taxing on the reader more than the characters to emphasize the pain and the grief of the entire story. now YOU'RE π«΅ in the meat grinder
it's almost the ten year anniversary of my most ambitious fic of all time (18k second person of a character who doesn't physically exist) and one thing i want to say is that while it is unbearably sad i think a big part of it is because of the reading experience.
like what do you mean last year i wrote a 10k manual on running fandom events (fan.kingdra.net/mod-guide), my cross-site documentation, 10k of my pokemon site's documentation (that i rewrote last week), and 2.5 technical articles, in addition to over 30 website projects and 70k of fiction. am i ok
the problem with me tracking my writing through fiction only is that i wrote about 50k of nonfiction last year (20k of which was technical writing) and that is as impressive as writing 50k of fiction tbh
someone get this useless organ out of my body Please
this weekend my body was like let's put you in the worst menstrual pain you had in years even though you left your painkillers at work. sigh
streamed pokopia for friends for 6 hours and now i have a headache... this is why i could never be a streamer
omfg my legacy
i'm extremely not built to be a streamer and not built to be a gamer but alas if friends want me to stream myself playing a game i will do it for them
& another friend and i were talking about it the other day LOL bsky.app/profile/dain...

meaningless number going up has done irreparable damage to people's dopamine reward systems, sigh
* i know that neocities has its own questionable issues right now but still. and even then there are an infinite amount of alternatives to neocities that are free...
you can even microblog on a personal website... you can even have a locked microblog on your personal website... you can do everything on your own website instead of depending on social platforms that will always (always always) prioritize revenue over your privacy and freedom of speech...
actually the really funny thing is that i still had a personal website before i was even on livejournal
anyway my excuse for being obnoxious is that i don't have ibuprofen so i've been suffering from period cramps all day and i also threw up. but now i'm eating frozen thin mints so today is ok again
wouldn't it be nice if everyone could have their own space that they could personally link to others while retaining some form of privacy and also personally customize and share in whatever way they want. and do it for free. oh wait. everyone can!
as much as i appreciate what lj did for fandom it does bug me that it has given a lot of people the impression that everyone in fandom should be in one place or on one platform, on a site that could easily be sold to say a government that heavily values censorship and could fuck everyone over
