In Deadlock news, DAYMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM WE WON
Had a fun gamescom and met up with old and new friends!
Time to take the train home and lay down for multiple days haha
Lol, only just saw this was a month ago, Bsky served it up fresh in my feed haha. Well, still belated congrats ^^
Congratulations! ๐๐๐
Decided to check out how water is rendered in Counter-Strike 2.
Given how interactive water in CS2 is, I expected to see some cellular fluid simulation, but turns out they just use a low-resolution off-screen buffer with flat 2D decals used for various aspects of water. Reminds me of HL2 water :)

I did miss the comfort of Ctrl+Z in Substance, but real-life acrylic and brushes are a fun change. I guess finally making a character instead of idk rocks was also great for an env artist like me ^^

The original delftware miku sticker design.
Rare "non-digital" 3D Art post :)
I 3d printed and painted a delftware porcelain Hatsune Miku figurine that I made based on a friend's (vuktos on insta) sticker design (as a surprise gift for her birthday). #b3d #3dprinting #vocaloid #miku
Farya's video essays are fantastic, it's impressive how much one can learn about music within different cultures in his videos.
The one he did on Orientalism is my favorite, such an informative video to watch. The Viking one is also fantastic. Interesting how many parallels these three videos have.
I don't take notes, but I usually save screenshots, progress renders or videos to a folder on my drive which has most of my 3D art projects documented since 2016, sorted by year/month folders.
Tbh I've also gotten a bit lazy with it in the last 2 years, I've really got to focus on it more again ^^
I also want one, this is really good :O

It's really not surprising, in what world was throwing away the purpose-built fully integrated Megascans frontend with it's very easily filterable granular categories a good idea?? FAB is just pages of random asset soup atm...
It's ramped up so much over the last 2 years, it's insane.
Of course. Add onto that unneeded complicated bureaucracy.
Especially important to highlight is that the Nazis viewed modern art, especially abstract expressionism and openly political art, as "degenerate" because these are the kinds of art that encourage you to think about what the piece of art means
Nazi/far-right art strives for non-meaning

Quite annoyed with Steam now blocking store pages of Games without age-ratings here in Germany.
It annoys me especially cuz it 100% blocks pre-release stuff with pending ratings and is delisting software tools that wouldn't even get any ratings as theyre NOT GAMES
Really hate this aspect of Germany
I've found myself recently searching certain places up on Google Maps (for outdoor as well as indoor pics at certain locations).
Ofc that is only gonna work for certain ideas/settings.
Otherwise I've also bookmarked certain "image collections" for specific settings, like e.g. www.bcd-urbex.com

Another Custom Cinematic Background Map, but for Episode Two now on workshop:

A gloomy warm office with a red vending machine, couch and door with a potted plant.
A large purple conference room with a projector casting a presentation onto the wall.
An emergency stairwell with biting-cold lights casting big flares.
A cold moody office space, purple vending machine and a cryptic sign above the door. A red glow in a drawer.
(in)stabilitea (predecessor to The Elision Effect)
is playable on the Half-Life 2 workshop now!
A short surreal #liminalspace puzzle game set in an eerie empty office...

With the awesome announcement of the Half-Life 2 Anniversary Update, and the inclusion of official workshop support for Half-Life 2, I will be uploading almost ALL of my maps/mods I ever made (with time) to it!
You can follow, and get them all here:

To celebrate the 20th birthday of #Half-Life2
I 've put all (read: most, more soon) my old Half-Life 2 levels on the workshop and created a collection.

A number of artists and creators have made their home on Bluesky, and we hear their concerns with other platforms training on their data. We do not use any of your content to train generative AI, and have no intention of doing so.
@gamedevlist.bsky.social Feels like I'm almost a little late to the party, but it'd be great if I could be added too ^^
Thank you!
I made my account here just a few hours ago and I'm already shocked by how many people here I know already? Feels like I'm home again and that was was formerly "Game Dev Twitter" is back and alive again.
Makes me almost feel like I was the last one to finally hop over ^^
I would love to see that! I was just trying it out and it struck me how the workshop implementation makes it really nice, easy, and accessible to quickly hop into any mappack, in comparison to downloading a sourcemod from ModDB (or even off the Steam Store)
I guess that was the point after all ^^
