Can you show a screenshot of what says "25.7"?
In general a WAN and a LAN is enough for initial setup. WAN goes into your NAT box and the client into LAN for first setup. Later you can add more ports or add a switch to LAN port instead.
26.1_4 hotfix is now on the main mirror. Be sure to catch this one. Also directly reachable from upgrades for best upgrade experience. forum.opnsense.org/index.php?to...
Super, thanks for the feedback! :)
I smoothly migrated to @opnsense.org 26.1. To prepare, I switched all rules in 25.7 from the old format to automation rules. This allowed me to troubleshoot and redesign rules for different endpoints and VLANs aligning with 26.1, making the migration predictable. Iβm very happy with the upgrade!
Updates from 25.7.11_9 to 26.1 are now possible #releasedayandahalf
Not yet, still waiting for an official jump from FreeBSD regarding the subject. FreeBSD 15.0 wasn't it despite the initial claims that freebsd-update would be obsoleted. But there is time. :)

New video up on OPNsense 25.7.11 π
Looks like a small patch, itβs actually setting the stage for big changes in 26.1 (DHCP, host discovery, IPv6 fixes, security updates).
If youβre running @opnsense.org at home or work, this oneβs worth a few minutes.

One of the great ironies of the Internet Age is how free platforms like @opnsense.org are far more secure and reliable than enterprise software with a six-digit price tag.
Thanks! Massive effort only possible with a conscious community at large. In Europe these days we're a bit surprised though when people say "oh now we must be strong and independent" but we've tried to do that for the last 10 years and raise awareness, sometimes in vain, but it's getting better. :)
OPNsense 25.7.8 update dropped yesterday, here's an overview of what's fixed, what's changed, and what's new.
