Donβt think so.
Donβt think so.
I remember a scandal a few years ago when some federal agency was found to be spending about $15 per attendee at a meeting where coffee and donuts were served.
I keep thinking how the USA & probably the rest of the world would likely be so much better off if we had only continued and built upon the Carter era movement to develop alternative energy sources.
Good.
Now who will sue to have all of Jimmy Byron's actions as the ineligible and illegally appointed head of the National Archives declared null and void?
(And discovery could tell us how long after Rubio's statutory eligibility ended he continued to serve as Acting Archivist, unlawfully.)

THREAD: I got laid off from NYMag/Vulture after 14 years. The family lost 75% of income + medical. Now mzs.press bookstore, once a side project. is do-or-die for Judith & I. I feel weird telling you this because others are doing much worse. But if you could like or share this, we'd be so grateful!
Glenn truly does some of the best Kickstarters. I hope you both might work something out. Iβm so sorry youβve been laid off, Matt.
A neighbor was hired by VOA for her expertise in Eastern European languages a few months before T.βs 2nd term, and was almost immediately laid off when his administration started. She only recently found a new job. The treatment of VOA staff and its mission has been shameful.
Itβs delightfully whacky stuff. Iβm so glad itβs well-preserved. Thank you for sharing the photos.
Also worth noting for the βeverything is onlineβ crowd that the numbers of archives being destroyed means that an increasing proportion cannot ever be online.
Your timeline told me it wanted some pictures from the delightful Wes Anderson show at the Design Museum In London

the state of public history, 2026:
with one eye on the Trump administration, NPS staff worries that describing the murder of an abolitionist "might denigrate the murderers"
the Trump administration is flying historic American documents around the country, and administration officials are asking you to pray for the pilots and plane
Probably some of the folks who profited off of Polymarket later.
I like that, a surreal and amusing idea which works grammatically too. Thereβs a bunch of Fish Crows in my neighborhood and I love to hear their chatter.
The Bayeux Tapestry up in lights at Piccadilly Circus! Tickets on sale from 1 July for the exhibition at the British Museum, opening in September. First chance in 1,000 years to see this iconic object back on British soil.
People keep telling me they're "not good enough to submit" - I say, we don't gatekeep skill levels.
Sure, I use the books to scout for artists to hire/forward projects to, but our goal is to *encourage people to celebrate nature*.
This is why I insist on having kid & amateur artists each season.
Iβm so sorry youβre suffering through this infection & I hope the treatment goes well and youβll feel much better soon.

The Smithsonianβs Natural History Museum had a forensic anthropology exhibition a few years ago & included the skull of a young man who had a tooth infection that ate away part of his jaw. What a horrifying way to die.

Business card of the New York Pigment Co.
NYC artists: Kremer Paints - the fascinating German store on W 29th that had all sorts of historical pigments hand-made from minerals and plants using ancient recipes - is gone. I was in mourning until I discovered today that a longtime employee is continuing the business as NY Pigment Company.
Incredible.
The McKinsey & Co. approach.

All of these images of the interior of the Johns-Manville Building, a pavilion at the 1939 NY World's Fair are made by Generative AI, and they've been shared across the internet. It didn't take long to make that determination that they are fake--but that's not the point.
