Missy, my old lady isn't doing well. I got her from a cat hoarder 6 years ago when she was either "8 or 14." She has had health issues the whole time I've had her. But I fear this is the end of my beloved girl. So I wanted to share her portrait.

I always have to correct for my astigmatism when I paint eyes. They often look normal to me in person, then deeply uneven in photos. Still deciding whether to go back in and redo one, or leave her be with that flaw and finish the rest.
I'm just jumping around posting different styles and mediums willy nilly, but this one is a personal favorite. It always looks better in person than photos. Still unfinished.

Oldie that I'm impressed I've held onto for this long. Done way back when I was homeless after highschool. Didn't have a lot of materials then, so I worked with what I had. Still love this one.

An oil painting of a woman in contemplation; an eye watches from the background. The quote continues: βwhere past and future form a continuous, endless loop. And, hovering about, there are signs no one has ever read, chords no one has ever heard.β Available March 8-9 at Artistic Souls Gallery on Facebook

When you're focused on 'serious' art, you still have to make time to fill a few sketchbook pages with fan art for desert. @kosmicdream.bsky.social

I've always felt limited by the notion that I should focus on one thing. When so many art forms are available for me to try.
What do you think? Do you feel restricted by the idea that your "brand" needs to be easily understood/consumable?
I've always gotten the advice that as an artist, you need to focus in on one area of interest in order to make your vision easily identifiable.
But I've always loved swapping between mediums and subjects as inspiration carries me.
Posting all my art here makes me aware of how disparate all the different kinds of art I make are.
